Bhatinda (Punjab): In a village known as Bhai Rupa, Dist. Bhatinda in Punjab, on the day of Dassera, instead of statue of Ravana, statues of Sree Ram, Lakshman and Seeta were burnt. Three persons have been arrested in this connection. Shiv Sena, Bajarang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad have demanded that strict action should be taken against the accused.

Pune: The base wall of Chhota Shaikh Sallah dargah had collapsed about a month ago. Now as the repairs of the wall is going on, ruins of Hindu ancient temple have been found under the debris of the wall.

Near Mutha River at Pune, there is a dargah of Shaikh Sallah. About a month back, the wall of durgah collapsed. The local municipality took up work of development of the Mutha River. Now when the debris is being cleared, ruins of ancient Hindu temple have been unearthed. The news spread likes a fire and members of many Hindu organizations rushed to the spot resulting in creating tension in the area. Police prohibited people from going there by raising barricades. The media persons were, however, allowed to visit the spot. Shri. Gajanan Mehandale and Shri. Pandurang Balkawade senior historians also visited the site on hearing the news.

While informing the media persons, Shri. Bulkawade said that according to the historical records, the ruins are of temple built in Yadava reign. There were Shiva and Vishnu temples at Punyeshwar and Narayaneshwar on the banks of Mutha River. Muslim Sultan Allauddin Khilaji attacked southern India. Later, he appointed Bada alias Bura Arab as his first Muslim administrator in the year 1194.

During that time, one ‘Avalia’ called Nizamuddin came to Pune from Delhi along with his 700 followers. Two of his disciples named Shaikh Isauddin and Shaikh Saluddin started propagation of ‘Islam’. These two disciples destroyed the Shiva and Vishnu temples. In the holy book ‘Gatha’ written by Saint Namdev, there is a mention of these temples. After their death, in place of Narayaneshwar temple, Shaikh Sallah was built in the name of the elder and in place of Punyeshwar temple; Shaikh Sallah was built in the name of younger shaikh in the year 1330.

Pune got its name from the name of the temple ‘Punyeshwar’. In the year 1918, Pune municipality had found some ruins of the temple when development work was undertaken e.g. dwarshakha of the temple, idol of Sree Vishnu, an idol of a hermit, other idols of Hindu deities, ‘Shiva-linga’, Gomukh etc. these ruins were handed over to the Indian Historians Committee.

It is a slap on the face of so-called secularists and is one more proof of the theory that ‘Attackers are always breakers; they can never be creators’. It is not a coincidence that after Paithan, ruins of temples have been found at Muslim structures at Pune; but it is an evident proof that Muslims have been ‘idol breakers’. Even in excavations at Babri Masjid, ruins of Hindu temples have been found; but despite so many proofs, Muslims are claiming it as their structure and even Government is keeping mum. Hindus should not be under the wrong impression that Govt. would do anything for taking over their structures but need to unite and fight for getting back their own structures – appealed Shri. Every mosque is a built over a Hindu temple – P.N. Oak, Senior Historian

Shri. P. N. Oak has said that it is his theory that every mosque is a taken over Hindu temple. This applied to even ‘Kaba’, a Muslim holy place. He said that he has won a no. of cases in court based on this theory.

THRISSUR: The special investigation team that spent seven hours at the Divine Retreat complex, Muringoor, seized several medicines and documents that could incriminate the Retreat authorities.

It was learnt from top sources that the Retreat authorities would be charged for at least three offences that include running an illegal hospital and treating patients without qualified hands. The Retreat applied for a licence for a hospital in 2001, but sanction was not granted.

Several allegations have been leveled against the centre in the past few years and several cases filed in the High Court against the Retreat, which attracts believers from several states.

Cases of suicides by mentally-ill patients brought to the centre for treatment have also been reported. At the time of the inspection on Saturday, there were at least 1,000 patients at the centre being treated for various ailments.

It has seven departments for treatment including a de-addiction centre, paediatric and psychiatry wings.

The police team found that injections and clinical operations were being carried out by non-qualified hands. An off-campus treatment centre at Veloor and a day-care centre run by the Retreat authorities were also inspected. Priests and several believers present at the centre were also questioned.

It is reported that there were at least 10,000 believers at the Retreat at the time of the operation. Investigating officers, however, declined to comment saying that it would hamper the probe. Mohajir said a joint-conference of the inspecting team would be held on Sunday to evaluate its findings.

Old man manhandled for drinking water during Ramdan

Malappuram: A Hindu old man who drank a glass of water during Ramadan fasting was physically assaulted by a Muslim. This incident happen at Perinthalmana in Malappuram district.

The old man,was waiting for bus at Thazekode, when he felt thirsty and went to the nearby home of a Hindu to quench his thirst.A Muslim on seeing this shouted at the old man and asked why he was drinking water in public and started hitting him.

Suddenly some passerbys came to the old man's rescue. Realising the situation, the attacker quickly left the place. So far no case was registered by the local police.

In this Muslim majority district in Malappuram till recently even the the shops of Hindus were not allowed to open.Due to the efforts of Hindu organisations Hindus were atleast able to open the Shops, But no one are allowed to drink or eat in public during their fasting month.

The “reform industry” is still at work questioning the tradition of barring women between 10 and 50 years from Sabarimala. It needs to be stated in this context that there are several Ayappa temples in India, including one in Delhi, where women devotees are welcomed.

Although the Kerala Police have not spelled out the larger conspiracy to defame the Sabarimala shrine, there can be little doubt that actress Jaimala acted at the behest of her Christian co-religionists to secure non-Hindu intervention in the affairs of one of the holiest Hindu pilgrimages. The so-called incident became a useful tool for the anti-Hindu industry to fight for the right of non-believing Hindu women to enter the temple in the name of equality and women’s rights, when all devout women have hitherto accepted the ban on entry for women between the ages of 10 and 50.

Since the “astamangala devaprasanam” that led to the actress’ so-called confession is linked to the defamation scandal concerning Chief Thantri Kantaru Mohanaru, who denied the veracity of the “devaprasanam” and refused to participate in the prescribed “purification” rituals, the police would do well to ensure early rehabilitation of the affected priest. The incrimination of the priest in a sexual scandal, again involving the Christian woman of allegedly loose morals, is not an individual matter, but as in the concocted case against the Kanchi Acharyas, involves the prestige of the entire Hindu society.

The Kerala crime branch has now found that the claim by the Sabarimala Thantri that astrologer Unnikrishna Panicker, who conducted the “devaprasanam,” has old links with actress Jaimala and had conducted pujas in her Bangalore residence in 2000. The actress shot into the national limelight when, after Panicker’s claim in June that the sanctity of the Sabarimala temple had been breached and therefore the deity was angry, she “confessed” that she had made the pilgrimage 19 years ago at the age of 27, entered the temple undetected after the long trek and the ritual bath in the river, and even touched the feet of the deity.

This created a nationwide furor. On the one hand, the astrologer insisted that all Kerala temples should undergo purification rituals, which many agreed to, just to be on the safe side. But the Sabarimala Thantri declared the incident a fraud, and when he refused to have purification in his temple, he was conveniently embroiled in a sex scandal and ousted from his job. This created further outrage among the people, and the police soon began retracing their steps on that story as well.

But even as the “human rights industry” got into the act, declaring that all Hindu women were suffering untold discrimination by not being permitted to enter this one temple in their child-bearing years, another Christian actress, Meera Jasmine, decided to disrespect Hindu sentiments by entering Raja Rajeshwara temple where non-Hindus are prohibited and women may enter only after evening pujas. She was spotted by the temple staff and claimed to have taken permission from the TTK Devaswom, which administers the temple, but authorities denied this, pointing out that only Hindus are allowed to enter the sanctum sanctorum of the Raja Rajeshwar temple. As a result, the temple has to undertake an expensive and time-consuming purification process.

The fact that the actress later shelled out Rs 10,000 for the purification rituals does not detract from the fact that she willfully defied Hindu temple rules. It needs to be emphasised that unlike Islam and Christianity, where the mosque and church are mere congregation halls for collective prayers by the community, the Hindu temple is actually the house of god, where the deity is believed to be physically present (virajman) to listen to the entreaties of devotees. The Hindu temple therefore has a sanctity that does not apply to the mosque and church, which are in a fundamental sense, very secular places. The Hindu temple, therefore, cannot be considered a tourist spot for the idle and curious, and non-Hindus must accept their limits if certain temples do not welcome visitors who are not devotees. There can be no equal right of access to temples for outsiders.

The partial ban on women is explicitly limited to this temple, for reasons lost in history, but genuine devotees do not feel the need to make it a prestige issue.

What is known, however, is that the baby God Ayappa is an ascetic and celibate, born of a union between Shiva and Vishnu in a female avatar (Mohini). Raised by a local ruler, he became the Lord of the jungle with magical powers over all living creatures, especially tigers that roamed the forests. A tradition somehow developed that male devotees would worship the deity and pre-puberty and post-menopausal women. Male devotees making the journey have to purify themselves by observing celibacy and sleeping on the floor for 41 days prior to the pilgrimage. A strict religious diet is prescribed for this period; and the eventual journey is no picnic.

Interestingly, Kerala also has temples exclusively for women, but the ‘rights’ of male devotees are not a paying industry! It needs to be emphasised that it is the right of temple authorities to decide who may enter the temple, and who may not, and the government would do well to be more vigilant of Hindu rights in this manner. Some months ago, a television channel reported that when an American visitor was denied entry into the Jagannath temple of Puri, he set up his own replica of the temple in Orissa, and said it was open to all ! This is simply scandalous. A temple is more than an architectural construction or tourist resort. It is sacred, and cannot be secularized.

Congress Govt.’s ploy to take over Hindu temples and religious institutions

Mumbai: Maharashtra Government has already taken over ‘Sree Siddhivinayak Mandir’ Trust and ‘Saibaba Sansthan’ from Shirdi under a special law. Now the State Government is planning to pass a new law to satiate its thirst for gobbling up the money collected at all religious places of Hindus. The Government has formed a committee for the purpose. As a special case, it is planned to exclude mosques, madarssas and durgahs from the purview of this law and religious places and spiritual organizations of Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, Parasis and Buddhists will be within its purview.

All the concerned belonging to various faiths have protested against this decision of the Government. All Hindu organizations are planning to fight against this decision. In this background, they are trying to come together and plan their strategy against the Govt. decision. If this law is passed, the Government would not have to pass separate law to take over a temple or religious organization but just by issuing a letter to that temple or organization, the Govt. can bring it under their control. Already the two Congress parties having common anti-Hindu policies are running the Government. Passing of the said law will make it simpler for them to destroy Hindu religion. There are about 4,50,000 temples and religious trusts. Only in Mumbai, there are 4271 religious trusts belonging to Hindus, Jain and Sikh religions and Parasis have 1219 and Christians have 314 religious Trusts.

In January 2005, the State Government made the excuse of stampede that occurred at Mandhardevi fair to pass the law to take over temple trust for better administration and management of funds. But in fact, even after taking over Sree Soddhivinayak Trust, many malpractices have been unearthed. Even the followers of Jain have warned the government that if Govt. goes on with passing the law, they will come on the roads and fight.

Campaign against nationalization of temples will be started – HJS

Although the Government was responsible for the stampede at Mandhare, it is not only shirking from its responsibility but it has put restrictions on certain rituals and now hatching a plot to take over all temples. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) will always oppose this move of the government. HJS has already started agitation against the malpractices in managing Sree Siddhivinayak temple Trust. HJS will fight against passing of this act with the help of all Hindu organizations and Trustees, explained Shri. Ramesh Shinde, the spokesperson of HJS for the State of Maharashtra.

Beating of an innocent Hindu: An eyewitness presented proofs of atrocities by SP

Tuljapur: Shri. Shyam Dighavkar, the Superintendent of Police (SP) from Usmanabad told in the press conference that Shri. Amit Kadam, a member of Hindu dakshata samiti (HDS) was ramming his vehicle into him so he was hit on his back with cane. In fact, the SP caned Shri Kadam when he was going in his vehicle from one side of the road.

The policeman, accompanying the SP, brutally hit Shri. Kadam and took him to the police station beating him all the way. This was narrated by Shri. Balasaheb Kulawat, an eyewitness. The local businessmen came forward to tell members of HDS about harassment meted out to them by Dighavkar. They gave their experiences in writing. One hotelier told about his experience that although he had set up his stall within the prescribed area, twice the SP unnecessarily beat him and his nephew.

Another small-scale tradesman also had similar woe to tell about the SP that he had also set up a small stall selling packets of ‘prasad’, but Dighavkar took the packets kept on display and distributed to the passersby causing him financial loss. Another hotelier said that points discussed in a meeting with the Dy. Collector in connection with the local fair were not known to the SP. As was decided in the meeting, some stalls were set up during a fair, but Dighavkar deliberately destroyed their stalls/ things kept for sale. Besides, many businessmen have shown their support to Shri. Kadam. Many active members of Hindu organizations have also decided to follow through the matter till end.

Fanatic Muslims stop procession of Goddess

Jalgaon: A procession was taken out by the locals at Hingone in Yaol Taluqa on the occasion of Navaratri. The procession was however, stopped by fanatic Muslims. Therefore, there was tension in the village.

Hindus from Hingone village took out a procession on the occasion of Navaratri. As the procession reached the mosque, Muslims stopped the procession and started shouting that the procession would not be allowed to pass from there. Hindus were enraged and started a fight. Police intervened and brought the situation under control. The Police Superintendent (Upper) visited the site and appealed people to maintain peace.

Mumbai: Those who are sounding their hooters 5 times during the day, have the guts to oppose processions from passing by mosques then Hindus from the area where such processions are not allowed, should demand for removal of hooters from mosque, said Shri. Ramesh Shinde, the HJS Spokesperson for states of Maharatshtra.

Fanatic Muslims pelt stones at the religious processions. Now they are not allowing even protest marches to pass by mosques. If nothing is done to stop their bullying, in future, not only near mosques but it will be difficult for Hindus to move about even in areas where Muslim population is more and then anywhere in the country.

Those who are demanding destruction of Hindu religion by calling it as religion of Brahmins, will now learn a lesson that all non-Muslims are ‘kafirs’ for them. Time has now come to follow the path shown by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to tackle terrorism. Hindus have no choice but to follow that path, said Shri. Shinde. He said that HJS condemns such fanatics.

Muslims attack protest march of Hindus as it passes by mosque

Nanded: ‘Chhava’ organisation had organized a speech by Ms Shalinitai Patil on ‘Benchmark for Reservation on Economic background’. The local police, however, issued an order prohibiting her entry in Nanded. As a result, the program had to be cancelled. In her absence, leaders of ‘Chhava’ organization gave speeches and later took out a protest march to the District Collector’s office. When the march was passing by a mosque, Muslims suddenly started pelting stones at the participants.

The march was taken for lifting the ban on Ms Shalinitai’s entry in Nanded. Many supporters of ‘reservation policy’ had gathered on the route of the march. Therefore, the police asked members of ‘Chhava’ to change their route. But the organisation did not pay any heed to instructions of police and went ahead on the same route. As the march reached near a mosque, the protesters and Muslim fruit vendors started a fight. Within a few moments, from the mosque, stone pelting started. Then stone pelting started from both the sides. When the situation went out of control, police started caning and tear gas shells were opened. About 70 persons got injured in the scuffle.

Police tactics to protect the guilty Superintendent of Police

The incident of an innocent member of Hindu Dakshata Samiti brutally had beaten up by Superintendent of Police.

Tulzapur: On 23rd September, Shri. Amit Kadam, a member of Hindu Dakshata Samiti (HDS) was unnecessarily beaten up by Shri. Shyam Dighavkar, the Superintendent of Police. In this context, a press conference was held and a demand was made to suspend the SP or else be prepared to face strong agitations. After the press conference, police called a member and argued with him for one and a half hours. The police tried to tell the member that if such news is published, people will lose faith in them.

The member, however was firm on his standpoint. The police department is trying their best to somehow save the skin of SP. Following the press conference, the police also called correspondents of 'Dainik Sakaal', 'Dainik Loksatta', 'Dainik Punyanagari', 'Dainik Samna’ etc. and gave a perverted version of the incident that Shri. Kadam pushed Shri. Dighavkar while he was passing by so Shri. Dighavkar hit him with a stick. Shri. Kadam, however, back answered the SP and therefore, he was beaten up. The police contended that Shri. Kadam did not behave properly even with Shri. Shinde, the Police Inspector. It is said that the SP has political support; but the Hindu organizations have decided to follow up the matter till end.

A representation was given to the District Collector (DC) of Usmanabad demanding suspension of Shri. Dighavkar. The DC said that the incident should not have taken place. Henceforth, care will be taken and Shri. Dighavkar will be reprimanded.

‘Maharashtra Times’ ridicules Hindu deities

Mumbai: The well-known Marathi daily Maharashtra Times has been publishing, during Navaratri, in its Mumbai supplement, an article titled “Ajachya Durga-Saraswati (Today’s Goddess Durga and Saraswati)” wherein famous lady achievers are introduced. Shri. Shivaji Vatkar, the Mumbai District Coordinator of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) was given evasive answers when he called up its office and tried to register his protest.

Many famous ladies in various fields have been introduced in this series of article like Rani Bung, known for working for the tribal population/natives, Arundhati Roy, writer, Condolisa Rice, Advisor to Bush Government, Dr. Rani Borges, Dr. Vandana Shiva, Shirin Ibadi etc. In this context, Shri. Vatkar registered his protest. An employee at the MT office said that it was only symbolic. Shri. Vatkar then asked whether the newspaper would dare to call an actor as Prophet Mohammad or Jesus Christ. The employee arrogantly replied that they would do so. He further advised Shri. Vatkar to send his contention in writing.

Police have done their duty by beating up Amit Kadam, certifies SP

Tulzapur: Shri. Shyam Dighavkar, the Superintendent of Police gave an explanation in the press conference that Amit Kadam was rashly driving his two-wheeler and talked very rudely with me when he was accosted by me. So the assistant policeman only once caned Shri. Kadam.

Shri. Dighavkar stated that while removing the encroachments on the road and controlling traffic, Shri. Kadam came on his two-wheeler with a very high speed. When the police tried to control him, he started shouting. Therefore, a policeman lightly hit him with a stick. The SP said that since Kadam turned out to be known to the local police inspector, he did not pay much attention to Kadam. Therefore, there was no question of him hitting Kadam. Shri. Kadam is making a mountain of a molehill.

If Shri. Kadam is wrong and the Police are right, why are they bringing pressure on Kadam to take back complaint through the medium of reporters?

In this matter even if we assume that the police are telling the truth, there is no law that will advocate beating someone brutally for being rude. Pressure from Christian leaders: Police cancel study tour of media persons to convent schools

Panvel: Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has started a campaign against St. Mary’s School at Panvel for hurting feelings of Hindus. HJS has been receiving complaints about even other missionary schools. In this background, a tour of all convent schools was organized; the police have, however, given in to the pressure put by Christian leaders and cancelled this study tour of mediapersons.

It has been learnt that Abraham Mathai, the President of all-India Christian Council was trying very hard for past few days, for cancellation of the tour. After receiving complaints from parents against St. Mary’s School, HJS lodged complaints with the Education Minister, Panvel City Police station and officials in the Education Department. HJS has stated in its complaint that not only at St. Mary’s School but also other convent schools like St. George, St. Joseph and Ryan International, feelings of Hindus are being trampled.

A tour was therefore, arranged of mediapersons to find the facts. But Shri. Raokar, the spokesperson of HJS for Raigad district was continuously getting calls from the police to cancel the proposed tour. When mediapersons gathered near the St. Mary’s School, the police from entering the school stopped them. When they contacted the senior police officials, they were asked to cancel their tour immediately. They were also warned that if still they try to conduct their tour, complaints would be filed against them. All the mediapersons were therefore, furious and opined that it was throttling of democracy.

Engott? (What is RSS and Where is it headed for). Fr. Kundukulam argues against branding the RSS ideology as fascism, Nazism, fundamentalism and communalism. He said the terms fascism, Nazism, and fundamentalism are much abused terms in India. They have a distinct connotation in the European context that can hardly apply to the Indian milieu.He admires the RSS for the dedication and discipline of its cadres, the simple life style of its pracharaks, the moral teaching it imparts to the younger generation in its daily sakhas, and the voluntary labour put in by its cadres at critical times such as natural calamities. Wonder what our 'seculars' have to say to this 'blasphemy'?!!

Hindus should realize that under the guise of secularism, the Government run by both the Congress Parties is trying to assault Hindus’ places of worship. If Hindus do not unite against the Government, the places would be destroyed soon

Mumbai: Maharashtra Government is planning to take over trusts of temples and financial trusts under its 15th Regulation. As per the report of the committee formed in this respect, the government is going to take over these trusts and appoint their representative. The information was given by Shri. Mangalprabhat Lodha, a BJP MLA.

In a meeting to oppose the Government’s move leaders of Jain sect planned to hold agitations in three stages. More than 600 staunch Hindus attended the meeting and decided to participate in the agitation. Under article 25 and 26 of State Regulations on Secularism, everyone has freedom to follow any religion. Even then, the State Government is planning to pass such black Act against Hindus. At the same time, the Government is trying to exclude 80,000 Muslim Trusts from the purview of this Act. The Committee will decide further course of action after taking legal advice from prominent persons in the field.

The Congress Government always has an eye on the funds belonging to Hindu temples. It is looting the Government coffers and on the other hand, it is now planning to seize the milking cow. On one hand, it is declaring financial aid to madarassas and on the other hand, the Government is planning to take over Hindu temples. The malpractices in managing funds of Sree Siddhivinayak temple trust makes Government’s motive in having control, quite clear. A few days back, Karnataka High Court had admonished the State Government that they can not take over only Hindu temples. Even then, the State Government in Maharashtra is planning to take over Hindu temples. Shri. Ramesh Shinde, the States Spokesperson of HJS said that the Samiti would fight the anti-Hindu ploy of State Government will all its strength.

Mumbai: A delegation of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), under the leadership of Shri. Ramesh Shinde, spokesperson for the state of Maharashatra met Dr. Ajay Shrungu and Shri. Sunil Bhat, the President and Office bearer respectively of ‘Panun Kashmir’, an organization of Kashmiri Pandits. The Organization had put up an exhibition of photographs at Ravindra Natya Mandir about atrocities on Kashmiri Pandits.

Shri. Shinde assured that through the medium of HJS website and periodicals of Sanatan Sanstha, people would be made aware of Kashmiri Hindus’ oppression by fanatic Muslims and terrorists. The issue will reach not only people in India but also all over the world through the website.

Dr. Shrungu and Shri. Sunil Bhat showed their willingness to offer necessary assistance in this regard as also proposed to discuss the matter in detail with the HJS members. They have extended invitation to the delegation to visit them again. In this exhibition, photographs of Muslims oppression on Hindus, inhuman killings of Hindus, how Hindu temples are destructed, looting of Hindus and how the Government is protecting Muslims are on display. All the photographs are very live and show the real happenings on the scene.

There are photographs like how displaced Hindus are put up in a transit camp near a dirty nullah, how a Hindu woman was tied to a jeep with a rope and dragged for about 20 kms. and killed. There are many temples in which Muslims have broken idols. Obscene pictures have been drawn and matter written on the walls and sanctum sanctorum of temples.

There are more than 100 photographs on the exhibit, which make one’s, blood boil. Not only terrorists but also Kashmiri Muslims have also destructed about two thousand Hindu temples in the last decade. Dr. Shrungu presented copies of ‘Kashmir Sentinel’, a mouthpiece of Kashmiri Pandits’ Organization to members of HJS and promised to remain in touch with them. He also approved publishing of the true incidents in ‘Sanatan Prabhat’. Shri. Uddhav Thakare, the Chief Executive of Shiv Sena and Shri. Sanjay Raut, a MP also visited the exhibition. Kozhikode, Sept 26: Reacting to media reports on the "disclosures" made by the Marad judicial inquiry commission, the BJP in Kerala on Tuesday urged the LDF government to order "without any delay" a CBI probe into the largescale violence at Marad beach near here in May 2003 that claimed nine lives.

"The BJP and other Hindu organisations' repeated demand that the massacre should be probed only by a central agency has been vindicated by the (inquiry) report and the government should not waste further time in ordering such a probe", BJP state president P S Sreedharan Pillai told reporters here.

Noting that his party was of the firm opinion that only a agency like the CBI could effectively probe the "conspiracy angle" that led to the killings besides tracing the involvement of suspected extremists organisations, Pillai said the crime branch failed to probe such primary issues.

Claiming that as many 28 communist party activists were named as accused in the violence, he expressed fear that the CPI(M), now heading the ruling front, might try to protect them by misusing the official machinery.

"Stern action should be initiated against those officials who earlier tried to protect the CPI(M) volunteers responsible for the incident", he said, adding while the accused list also comprised activists of the IUML and the Muslim extremist outfit National Development Front (NDF),"not a single activist of the BJP or RSS" was stated to be involved in the attack.

The Thomas P Joseph Commission was appointed by the previous Congress-led UDF government to study and submit a detailed report on the May 2003 massacre that followed the January 2002 violence in the same area in which five persons were killed.

The report is likely to be placed in the State Assembly soon.

It is a pity and a thorough shame that a Hindu minister in the Left front Govt of West Bengal was made to eat humble pie and apologize to the supposedly secular CPI(M) leadership for his “conduct of praying at a temple and declaring that he is first a Hindu.”

Contrast to this the same left front Govt in West Bengal is spending a whopping Rs130 crores annually on madarsas in the State. Mr.Abdul Sattar, West Bengal’s Minister of State, Minorities Development & Welfare and Madarsa Education has said that while advertising for the post of madarsa teachers they insist that “teachers should have knowledge of Islam and its culture.” It is also said in the news report that 12% of the students in the madarsas are non-muslims.

There is a dearth of Govt schools in Bengal which is why poor Hindu students are forced to go to madarsas. It should be noted here that the Education porfolio in the Leftist fortresses of both Bengal and Kerala are with Minorities and therefore they are thriving in both these states at the cost of the tax-payers. This is also a ploy to de-hinduize the Hindu.

The CPI(M) dare not dictate terms to their minority cadres. They can remain ‘proud muslims and Christians and be true to their respective religions. Only Hindus are despicable in their eyes and so only they are expected to be ‘secular’.With his warped idea of secularism, Mr.Sitaram Yechury never loses an opportunity to smugly refer to the BJP and Sangh Parivar as ‘communal elements’. The truth is, it is his party is in the forefront in communalizing and fishing votes from it.

They are enabling the Islamization of Bengal and its probable integration with Bangladesh in future. They are just ‘helping’ the people who are filling their coffers and therefore are working towards the ‘Unification of Bengal’, you get it? In the light of the above, Hindus owing allegiance to the CPI(M) who have any sense of self-respect should do some re-thinking and soul-searching and leave the Islamist and divisive CPI(M) for good.

Harassement and Torture by TTD Vigilance and Officials

Respected Sir,

I would like to bring to your kind notice that, I, Omprakash Agarwal, working as a Reporter and South India Co-ordinator in your Esteemed Channel was Harassed and Tortured by TTD officials on 30th July to 1st August 2006.

Sir, I went to Tirupathi after consultation with Senior Executives and your goodself to cover a program on Christian Religious Propoganda in Tirupathi-Tirumala for our Channel based on reports from various leading dailies of South India (ie. Vijay Karnataka, Samyukata Karnataka, Indian Express and many more print and electornic media). I also took tips from the Report of the "Fact Finding Committe" deputed by Pejawar Math Swami Sri Vishweshwar Thirtha Swamiji to probe into the affairs.

Sir, As you are aware I went to Tirupathi on 29th to Cover the Episode, I made some coverage in local Tirupathi area on 29th and on 30th Morning, I went to Tirumala Hills to cover the program with a local escort by name Damodaran aged 20-22 Years, who was familiar with local language and place. Damodaran had arranged a vehicle to take me to Tirumala. We first went to the Foothills known as Alipiri around 10:45 A.M (30th July), We reached Tirumala around 12:20 P.M and I got down near Krishna-Arjun park at the entrance of Tirumala to take few shots of some shops selling Cross and other items. Based on information received, I left for Papavinasham where there were reports of conversions taking place. We searched all the place in Papavinasham but could not gather any information, later we left for a place called as Balaji Nagar on the outskirsts of Tirumala. We enquired from various sources on the route to Balaji Nagar, as it was in news for propogation and other religious activities. At around 3 P.M, we entered Balaji Nagar searching for houses conducting Sunday prayers, Balaji Nagar is a very large Residential area which houses to about 1,000 - 2000, but almost after1 hour search we could not trace anything, We continued our search and finally around 4: 15 P.M, we came across a few houses where Cross marks were put outside the houses. We immediatley stopped our vehicle and I took video shots of 2-3 houses. After taking shots we went futher to enquire if there were any Christian families in the locality. The residents denied saying that there were no one there, When we were just talking to the ladies, two people came to us and enquired who we were. I said I am a reporter and he is my escort from Tirupathi. They did not believe us. They alleged that we only painted the cross and were shooting, They caught hold of us and within fraction of second over 60 people had gathered at the venue and harmed us physically. They took away our belongings containing our Handycam, Mini Dvs, Mike set, Channel (ID) Logo, & Bag containing clothes and cash. After a few moments The Vigilance department Officials of TTD arrived, They too harmed us and snatched away our mobile phone and took into custody all our belongings. Later they took us to the Vigilance Office led by NAGU REDDY ( V.C.O) in Tirumala and beat me and my escort Damodaran. After sometime we were taken to Joint Executive Officer Shri Dharma Reddy, there also we were beaten with sticks and were booted by this Nagu Reddy (Vigilance officer), his assistants (Murthy and others) and Dharma Reddy. Later they began to see our Video footage which we had covered. We had taken a few shots of shops in Tirumala selling Cross items. The Vigilance Officer asked me to accompany to pin point the shop where it was sold. They took me in a high secuity vehicle as a criminal to the shop. I pin pointed the shop from where Cross was sold. The shop keeper was bought to the Vigilance office and he was made to say by the Executive officer and Vigilance officer that it was I who gave him to cross to sell it. That shop keeper too was threatened to tell lies as he too was at their mercy. We were shocked seeing this behaviour of the officials who were all there to fabricate cases against us for shooting this in Tirumala. I protested and pleaded to the executive officer to show the Tape once again so that I could explain him. I pinpointed that all the products in the shop keepers premises had same company brand packing. Rather than accepting the mistake, he immediately asked his men to delete this portion of shots from the Video Dv's. The Torture continued till late night and they were forcing us to confess that we belonged to some organisaition or have been sent by some agent to blaspheme Tirupathi-Tirumala. Vigilance Officer had gone to the extent of threathening us with a loaded PISTOL to confess, otherwise he would get us killed in an ecounter declaring us as ISI Agents, Terrorists, or Naxalites. But by the grace of God and intervention by the Sub-ordinates, it did not work out. Before that they had invited all the Media persons both from the print and electronic media at the vigilance office and paraded us, and gave a one sided press note to them without allowing us to speak with the media men.

At around 2:00 A.M on 31st morning, we were sent to II Town Police Station in Tirumala. The Sub Inspector interrogated us and we apprised him about all the events which took place and placed all the facts before him. After giving our statement, he provided us some place to sleep and said he will come back in the morning. On 31st Morning at 8:00 A.M, DSP of Tirumala Shri. Satyanarayana had come to the station to interrogate us, he interrogated for around 1/2 an hour and left the place. Again around 1:30 P.M, we were shifted to DSP Office and there we were interrogated by the Superitendent of Police Shri Gopal Krishna. We put all facts before him. He was convinced by it and he openly expressed in the presence of other officials that we were INNOCENT. Later he made arrangements for Lunch for both of us. Later in the evening the Police Officials had a meeting with the TTD officials and there they had decided to release us. At Around 9 P.M, the Police Department arranged for a VIP Darshan at the temple and they later asked us to write a statement at the Tirumala II Town Police Station.
Two Sub-Inspectors took our statements and after completing, we were requested to leave the place. The S I said it was already 12: 00 A.M and it was not safe to leave at that time. He said that we could leave in the morning.

We were forced to spend one more night in Police Station and we anxiously waited for the dawn. Next day morning the Sub Inspector arrived around 7 A.M (1st August 2006) and we asked his permission to leave. He said he would consult the Supdt of Police and only after that we could leave the place.

When the S I spoke to S P, he refused stating that "there is pressure from Higher officials not to let you, as we need to interrogate both of them". It was frustrating moments for us, in the meanwhile our friends from other media on hearing our news had come all the way from Bangalore to bail us out. My escort was taken to SP office in Tirupathi and there he was interrogated by the Crime Police. That went on upto 7 in the evening. At around 9 P.M the S.I said that I could leave for Bangalore. I was bought down by a constable who escorted me upto Tirupathi.

The SI asked us to leave for Bangalore, he also sent his constable along with us to Bangalore. Next morning we reached our house and the constable accompained me till my house, He left after he took an undertaking from my mother stating that I have reached Bangalore safely.

Sir, I did not understand why there was a conspiracy to fabricate us in false cases. Is it just because we had collected some information and video shots of some incidents in Tirumala which are already popular with other Media.

I will not be surprised, if they may cook and fabricate some more cases against me to suppress some more facts. THE CONSPIRACY HAS BEEN EXPOSED.

A) Is it not an Attack on freedom of Press?
B) Is it not human rights violation to beat brutally with sticks and kick with boots?
C) Is it not a Conpiracy to Implicate us in False Charges?
D) Is it not a violation of press rights to Seize Press Material?
E) Is it not human right violation to issue Threat to our Lives?

If it is so, then what for is the Right to Information Act ?

Huge rise in the usage of veil in Kerala

In the recently published survey conducted by Sastra Sahithya Parishad (Read as an organisation specifically designed to accomodate the so called 'Marxist intellectuals') on various social issues, revealed that in 20 years time the usage of purdhah/veil among Muslim women has gone up from 10% to over 30%!

What could be deduced from this?Are we progressing or fanaticism is spreading effectively in the state in various disguise? Women right and Human Right activists are least bothered about this increasing Gender discrimination among a major community in Kerala.

To the security agencies, personnel in veil pose a great threat. The terrorists and such undesirable elements in society find the veil the easiest of things to move around freely and unchallenged.

An instance to quote in this regard is the great escape of Mr.Bani Sadr from Iran. Mr.Bani Sadr was the first elected Prime Minister of Iran after the historic revolution lead by Ayatollah Khomeini. And it was in Iran that the use of veil was made compulsory. Within months after the revolution, Mr.Bani Sadr had fallen from grace of the Ayatollah and when his life itself was in danger, he escaped from the country by disguising as women and the protection of the veil.

So, in Kerala we must be cautious about the rise in percentage of the veil users.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has put the proposed Bill in the public domain for comments. The Bill consolidates the law relating to the acceptance and utilisation of foreign contribution or foreign hospitality by individuals, associations or companies and prohibits acceptance and utilisation of foreign contributions or hospitality for conversions and anti-national activities. Christian missionaries and other organisations accepting foreign contributions for mass conversions in India will come under the Government's scanner as per this Bill.

(A) 'It is relevant to note that under the FCRA no organization of a political nature,not being a politicl party,and no association,other than the aforesaid organization,having definite cultural,economic,educational,RELIGIOUS,or social programme,can accept a foreign contribution without the prior permission of or registration with the MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (MHA).The law provides for auditing/inspection of the donees' accounts and ALSO PUNITIVE ACTION FOR VIOLATIONS.'

(B) 'A number of specific issues were raised with MHA regarding the enforcement of FCRA. WE COULD NOT GET THE REQUISITE RESPONSES ON THE GROUND THAT THE RELEVANT INFORMATION COULD BE SUPPLIED AFTER THE ONGOING COMPUTERIZATION PROCESS IS COMPLETED. This law was ENFORCED 24 YEARS AGO; by now at least the essential data should have been available with MHA. We also gathered the impression that the functionaries responsible for handling this important area of work were NOT ADEQUATELY SENSITIVE TO WHAT EXACTLY IS REQUIRED TO BE MONITORED AND HOW'.

(COMMENT: There are many such strictures against the functioning of the MHA that can be read in the report of the 'TASK FORCES'. What hope then for optimism on 'THE PIONEER' report? More so as the 'TAMAS-SICK' Shivraj Patil heads the MHA???)

There was once again a commotion in the Municipal Corporation Hall over 'Vande Mataram'. The councillors from the ruling party Shiv Sena and BJP were enraged over derogatory comments passed by a Muslim lady councillor about Hindu deities. The lady councillor was 'gheraoed' and slogans were raised against her that she should apologize for her comments. The atmosphere in the hall heated up. Finally, the Mayor warned her, on behalf of all members. Therefore, she withdrew her comments. In the last meeting held by Municipal Corporation, Muslim councillors, as also councillors belonging to parties like Congress and Samajawadi party expressed their strong opposition to 'Vande Mataram'! The leader of the House said, ‘Why Congress should oppose 'Vande Mataram' when earlier it had accepted ’Vande Mataram’ as a National Song’. The lady councillor, in question, recited a 'sher' which ridiculed Hindu deities. Finally, she did not apologize but just took back her words.

Jinnah remains their idol

In his article, "Jinnah right on Vande Mataram" (September 13), Mr Obaidur Rahman Nadwi quotes Mohammed Ali Jinnah saying that he had objected to the singing of Vande Mataram by Muslims as it was against their religious tenet. He is right and so are other Muslim leaders. But Jinnah was also right when he proposed the exchange of population between India and Pakistan as an integral part of Partition. Jinnah, along with seven other Muslim League leaders, had argued that because of their religion, tradition and history, Muslims could not live peacefully with Hindus in a Dar-ul Harb.

Former Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia M Mujeeb wrote in his book, Islamic Influence on Indian Society: "At a party given in the UN General Assembly session in 1949, I had the pleasure of being placed next to the Turkish representative. He looked at my name card and saw that I was a Muslim and at once asked, 'Are there still any Muslims in India?' It is believed that the sub-continent had been divided between Hindus and Muslims with all Muslims on the one side and all Hindus on the other."

From Mr Nadwi's comments, it would seem the fault lies with Muslims who decided to stay in India despite a separate homeland having been created for them. If they agree with Jinnah not to sing Vande Mataram, why did they not migrate to Pakistan where they would have been governed according to the Sharia'h? Having stayed on in India, they are expected to abide by the laws and culture of the land.

It is not good to cry every time there is an effort to integrate Muslims with the mainstream. Muslims want to be treated like a minority, whereas Pakistan and other Islamic countries never take care of their minorities. According to international laws, Muslims cannot claim the right to being called a minority, especially after having got a separate homeland.

Have Indian Muslims ever spared a thought for the Hindus who stayed back in Pakistan? It is well known that both Pakistan and Bangladesh have been cleansed of their Hindus. Muslims are advised to seek safeguards and rights keeping in mind the special concessions that have already been provided to them.

Pakistan printing fake Indian currency notes at Quetta

AFP reported on September 18 that a Pakistani Government printing press in Quetta, capital of Balochistan province, is reportedly churning out large quantities of counterfeit Indian currency. The rupee notes are then smuggled into India as "part of Pakistan's agenda of destabilising the Indian economy through fake currency," according to Times of India. The notes are "supplied by the Pakistan government press free of cost to Dubai-based counterfeiters who, in turn, smuggle it into India using various means," the report said quoting a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) note to Indian security agencies and the finance ministry. It also mentioned how fake currency notes were concealed in music systems, crockery boxes and washing machines, and sent to India through 'carrier' air passengers who were paid Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 for carrying a consignment from Dubai and other Gulf countries.

The CBI also reportedly mentions Bangkok as a major centre of fake Indian currency notes production — smuggled into India through Nepal and Bangladesh.

The Reserve Bank of India has estimated the amount of fake currency in circulation at almost 1.7 trillion rupees (37.5 billion dollars), the report said.

Education Minister codemns convent school for harassing Hindu students

Education Minister taking cognizance of the Samiti’s complaint immediately called for issuance of an order for enquiry of the school by the Deputy Director of Education.

Mumbai: A delegation of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) met the Education Minister Shri. Vasant Purke today in Mantralaya to discuss the issue of injustice being inflicted on Hindu students of St. Mary School at Sukapur in Panvel Taluka. Taking cognizance of the Samiti’s complaint, the Education Minister immediately passed an order to the Deputy Director of Education for initiating inquiry on the school.He also gave an assurance that, if needed, he would call for a joint meeting of the HJS and the school administration for resolving this issue through dialogue.

At this time, Shri. Ramesh Shinde, Spokesperson of the HJS for Maharashtra State; Shri. Abhay Vartak, Member of Sanatan Sanstha’s Committee for Redressal of Injustice; Shri. Mahendra Patil, BJP President of Panvel Taluka; Shri. T.D Mhatre, Representative of aggrieved Parents and Shri. Bapu Raokar, Spokesperson of the HJS for Raigad District were present. In this meeting which lasted for half an hour, the HJS presented the Education Minister with complaints of the injustice occurring on Hindu students with proof, in the form of a letter. This letter includes various complaints enumerated below. Also, a CD containing complaints of the aggrieved parents was presented to the H’ble Minister. This letter specifically mentions that inspite of the H’ble Minster’s appeal regarding not to hold the exams during Ganeshotsav, the St. Mary School administration put mental stress on students and their parents by doing so!

The St. Mary School has thus displayed it’s improper adamant attitude by disobeying the H’ble Minister’s orders. Parents have complained about the illegitimate actions of the school management to the HJS. Complaints enumerated in the letter are as follows:

1.The school administration forbids Hindu girl students from wearing a ‘bindi’ on the forehead, wearing bangles and applying ‘mehendi’ on their hands.

2.When Hindu boy students apply ‘Tilak’ on their forehead on any given day, they are forced to wipe it off!

3.The school authorities cut off Rakhis adorned by Hindu boy students on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan!

4.Hindu students are forced to recite Catholic prayers against their wishes!

5.The school notebooks have the Catholic prayer printed on the first page, while India’s pledge and its National Anthem stands printed on the last page!

6.Every classroom has only Jesus’ picture.

7.Class I students are being made to study the subject of Maths from four different textbooks. This is against the stipulated rules.

8.The seating arrangement for students in the school is pathetic.

9.Many people opine that the school does not have administrative approval of the Govt. The school management refuses to disclose the legal documents of the school and when questioned, gives vague answers.

10.Parents are not allowed to enter the premises of school!

11.An inhuman punishment of 75 sit-ups is given to small children!

12.On the day of the Hindu festival of ‘Gokulashtami’, when other schools in near vicinity had declared a holiday, St. Mary School forcibly called its students.

All these acts are unjust and have been committed with malice towards Hindus. Thus, they have hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus. This has led to deprivation of the right to freedom of religion as awarded by the Indian Constitution.

Thus, the Samiti has launched an agitation against this. The Samiti alongwith other Hindu organizations and political parties had stormed the St. Mary School administration on 5th September 06. The Samiti in it’s letter has also said that, the Director of the school had given an assurance of stopping these malpractices in seven days with effect from 5 September 06, but did not take any measures in this regard.

The Education Minister read the whole letter and said that, it was wrong on the part of the school to conduct exams during Ganeshotsava and that there is no reason for any objection to any religion. The Indian Constitution has given freedom to all its citizens to abide by their respective religions. Hence, nobody can apply force in case of religious issues. He asserted that, instructions would be given to schools to ascertain that they do not hurt religious sentiments in this manner. He also stated that the suggestions given by the Samiti are appropriate and the school will be made to abide by them. The Minister also clarified that he would personally look into this matter and call a meeting of the Samiti and the School Administration in his presence as soon as possible.

SBE found guilty in USA for writing against Hindus in the school textbooks

New York:The ‘Hindu American Foundation (HAF)’ and other staunch Hindus had filed a
petition against the School Board of Education (SBE), California for publishing certain matter in the text books set for sixth standard which was against Hindus. The Californian High Court has convicted the SEB as it has infringed the Californian Administrative Procedure Act.

It is stated in the text that there is casteism in Hindu religion and even women are not treated equally. HAF had therefore, filed a petition that the matter published in SEB books was wrong. The Judge not only accepted HAF’s contention but also said that SEB always infringes the law misusing its powers. HAF had demanded that the controversial portion should be excluded from the textbooks and books may be re-printed.

But the Judge rejected HAF’s demand saying that it would create hindrance in studies and SEB should be given reasonable time to bring about the changes. HAF has planned to file a petition in the Supreme Court to exclude the controversial portion from the textbooks. It was the first time that the Hindus based in USA have come together to fight for a cause.

Fanatics have vowed that they will make ‘Kerala another Kashmir’, and going by the explosive nature of the terrorist activities going on in the tiny State, it seems, their aim is not a far cry or bravado. In continuation of the terror activities going on in the State for almost two decades, a high explosive grenade H-E 36, of capacity to destroy anything within 30 metres around it, wrapped in green cloth with Islamic markings was found under a bridge culvert in Kappanvila near Kallambalam in Attingal taluk of the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram. This area is a strong hold of the Islamic terrorists, NDF. According to the police sources, the high intensity grenade might have been abandoned after police started house to house searches in the light of the nationwide alert against terrorist strikes.

Senior officials of the State intelligence, IB, Defence establishment etc. who inspected the grenade said that no markings were visible on the grenade. They feel, it is the type supplied by ISI, to Islamic terrorists elements and Naxalite groups. According to them these types of grenades are given to Kashmiri terrorists, when they undergo training in Pakistan and Bangaladesh and they pass it on to Islamic terrorists in various parts of India to train their cadres. They say that this clearly establishes the link of Kerala terrorist outfits with Pak supported anti-national groups in Kashmir.

NEW DELHI: RSS chief KS Sudarshan on Monday asked Hindus to remain vigilant and stand united against "clandestine attacks" to weaken the community and confine it to the pages of history.

"An invisible and silent attack is being waged against the community to weaken it from inside. We have to remain vigilant against such attempts," he said after releasing a book written by Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy in New Delhi.

He said the country has slipped in a "state of coma" after the wave of foreign invasions right from the Mughals to the British, losing its focus and identity and called for a Hindu awakening.

"Hindus should awaken and search for their identity to defeat evil forces who are trying to destroy their culture," he said and asked everyone to raise their voice against religious conversions.

Interestingly, he said the caste system prevented disintegration of the society under the Mughal and British rule as there was no insecurity among people because their roles and jobs were clearly demarcated.

His views were echoed by Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati, who said visiting temples and participating in religious activities were not enough to save the religion.

The book titled Hindus Under Siege—The Way Out speaks about the alleged clandestine defamation of Hindu icons and symbols, demographic restructuring of Indian society, systematic and continuing distortion of India's history and terrorist activities targetted against the Hindu community.

"The UPA government is soft on terrorism and is trying to divide the society on the basis of caste lines," Swamy alleged and called for Hindu renaissance in the country.

Urgench: Krishnaites persecuted as public enemies

Krishnaite communities in Uzbekistan are not numerous at all. Krishnaites number 150 people at best in the capital city of Tashkent. Fortunately for them, this community is officially registered by the Justice Ministry as a religious organization. This status permits Krishnaites in Tashkent to own a large mansion across the road from the mental diseases hospital not far from the Northern Railroad Station.

In the meantime, Krishnaites clad in orange silks no longer meditate in the center of Tashkent the way they did 15 years or so ago. Everything is different now, and even the color of the traditional accoutrements may make the authorities suspicious. In any case, Krishnaites in Tashkent do not complain. They have their mantra Hare Krishna! Hare Rama! to rely on.

Their brothers in faith in the distant city of Urgench are considerably less lucky. Even the mantra does not help there. Most Krishnaites flee Urgench altogether, unable to tolerate the campaign of harassment. The impression is that the whole world has rallied against these hapless innocents who aren't even dedicated Krishnaites. There is only one faithful in all of the city, the man who observes all rites. He is left alone for the time being. Instead, the authorities riveted their wrath on whoever visits the one Krishnaite for even so innocent a purpose as asking to be given something to read.

"Whoever is interested in the Conscience of Krishna nowadays is doing so at his or her own peril," Ruzinboi Hasanov, translator of Vedic texts into Uzbek and the one Krishnaite in Urgench, said. "Particularly students. Persecution began at the Faculty of Biology of the Urgench Medical Institute four years ago give or take a couple of months when everyone known as reader of Krishnaite books was branded as a public enemy. Institute administration was convinced that Krishnaites "assassinated Indira Ghandi and conspired to engineer a coup d'etat in Russia" and that "they study Kamasutra that urges its readers to engage in sex every day."

Students interested in Krishnaism found themselves in trouble. Officers of the National Security Service battered Jalil Abdullayev, a student they wanted a confession from. Five other students were forced to sign false statements to the effect that they knew Jalil as a preacher of Krishnaism. Jalil wouldn't confess. He was battered black and blue for his "obstinacy".

"I know several officers of the National Security Service, some of them from the department that deals with confessions," Hasanov said. "They do not know what is happening. They say they sent a cable to the Committee for Religions in Tashkent and received a reply to the effect that Krishnaite books are not on the list of outlawed publications. Also importantly, this persecution campaign is waged by officers from other departments, the ones that are not supposed to handle religious matters at all. I suspect that were paid to launch this campaign."

"My own place is under surveillance. Whoever turns up at my door - no matter under how innocent an excuse - finds himself in trouble," Hasanov continued. "Jalil came over once, and the dean of his institute got a phone call the following day. "Send Abdullayev down or we will take measures," he was told in no uncertain terms. Abdullayev was summoned to the dean's office and informed that he was out because he had missed 30 hours of lectures. Jalil referred to one other student who had missed 200 hours and wasn't any worse off. He told the dean that he would complain... In short, he was merely ousted as the course leader. Abdullayev was then summoned to the local office of the National Security Service and beaten there. His interrogators wanted Jalil to make a statement that I had said something insulting against the president of Uzbekistan. Jalil refused."

"We, Krishnaites, do not watch TV. We do not even know where the president is at this or that moment. We are not interested in politics. We do not even study religion, we study the God. The Veda is knowledge of the God and we share this knowledge with others. It's science we deal in, not religion. The Constitution of Uzbekistan states that every citizen may obtain and spread information, and that's what we are doing. We spread information on the God and that does not have anything to do with preaching or religion," Hasanov said. "The National Security Service in the meantime spread the rumor that Krishnaites were bad folk to chum up with and that four young men were sacked from an institute for being Krishnaites. All of Urgench rallied against us then. Families grew scared and put their children under pressure. Readers of Vedic literature were persecuted."

Hasanov continued, "One of my acquaintances by name of Nadira was beaten and locked up at home by her own father. Nadira, 23, is a teacher. She managed to escape and made it to Tashkent where she spent the following two months at her friends'. It was only then that she summoned the courage to phone her parents. The parents said that she had disgraced them, that they disowned their daughter, and that she was a public enemy now... The police found Nadira and put her in the detention cell of the Uch-Tepe District Department of Internal Affairs. Her father and fiance travelled to Tashkent in order to have her institutionalized but the fiance rebelled at the last moment. The father then took Nadira home and locked her up again. Her young man returned to Urgench too but... In short, we do not know anything about Nadira now. We do not even know if she is alive."

Mukaddas Kurbanova

"We are a homeless family now," Mukaddas Kurbanova of Urgench told Ferghana.Ru. "We lived with my husband and my daughter at our own place once and everything was all right, but my father-in-law decided that he didn't like it that we read Krishnaite literature and that we never ate meat or drank alcohol. He took our passports and my husband's KamAZ truck and locked us up forcing us to eat meat and drink vodka. We called a local human rights organization whose activists came over and had the father-in-law return our passports to us. That was when we hit the road."

"We cannot get back what belongs to us," Kurbanova said. "We approached every structure we could think of - courts and so on - but we are always told that this is our own family affair we should sort out on our own. My husband went to the police with a complaint against his father but nobody would listen to him. When the father-in-law discovered it, he branded my husband, his own son, as the Wahhabi, and he was immediately arrested. We fled to Tashkent as soon as he was released and were taken up by some friends of ours..."

"It would have been all right had we managed to register our own organization in Urgench," Hasanov concluded. "As things stand, however, it's a vicious circle. We need at least 100 signatures on the petition for registration, but who is going to sign the petition when Krishnaites and sympathizers are persecuted? People are afraid, and that means that registration is out of the question."

"As we are known as religious people, we cannot even have some tea in groups of more than three people," Hasanov said. "We are said that more than three people means an organized group i.e. an organization that is not registered. Why is it that a believer cannot visit a friend? Everyone who visits me is summoned to the National Security Service. That is why we are shunned. I do not see any way out."

Stone pelting by Muslims on Ganesh idol: Many injured

Tulzapur, Maharashtra: On Anant Chaturdashi, the last day of Sri Ganesh festival, a procession was taken out for immersion of Sri Ganesh idols by 'Veer-Shaiva Tarun Mandal' at Katgaon (Tal. Tulzapur, Maharashtra). While the procession was passing by a mosque, some Muslims pelted stones at the procession causing damage to Sri Ganesh idol and injuries to many people participating in the procession.

The Muslims were shouting slogans of 'Pakistan Zindabad' while pelting stones. Due to the damage caused to the idol, people were livid with anger. The situation in Katgaon became quite tense. Members of the Ganesh Mandal called the police and demanded to register complaint against those Muslims. The idol was immersed only after an assurance was given to arrest the culprits.

The devotees who participated in the procession, however, told that while registering complaint against the miscreants, police have mentioned in their FIR that due to pelting of stones at the procession, loud-speaker has been damaged. When the residents and members of the Ganesh Mandal asked the police to write a true report, instead of taking action against the Muslims, police started threatening the members. In fact, the police inspector said that if the members tried to insist on writing a complaint, he would register a complaint against the members of Ganesh Mandal and give evidence against them.

When it was noticed that there were no hopes of the local police doing justice and taking action against the culprits, a complaint has been sent by fax to Shri R. R. Patil, the Dy. Chief Minister. Some of the members of Ganesh Mandal have been seriously injured and admitted to a hospital in Solapur. About 7-8 Muslims were involved in the crime.

It is being said that a local MLA from Congress party has brought pressure on the police.

In Malappuram, a Muslim majority district in Kerala, threatening of convent schools by Islamic Extremists are common. The Muslims won’t allow the schools to run if the Christian schools demanded the removal of head scarf of Muslim girls nor if they force Muslim students to attend their prayer.

Missionaries which claim themselves as the founders of Modern Education always had their own agenda behind this Education business. They receive huge foreign funds for propagating their religion and apart from that they will collect huge sum from students as fees. There is no charity involved in any of these so called ‘Missionary Schools’.

The Christian managed Self Finance colleges all over Kerala is a typical example of how their Charity education had turned out to be the Biggest Business for collecting money for fraudulent conversions.

Hindu Hater St. Mary's School

Panvel, Raigad, Maharashtra: St. Mary School in Panvel, Maharashtra, in the name of imparting education, is propagating Christianity and inflicting repeated injustice on Hindu students. During the ongoing Ganesh Festival celebrations, when all schools in the vicinity of Panvel had declared holidays, St. Mary’s School conducted exams, let alone giving holidays.

After receiving complaints from several parents troubled due to such anti-Hindu incidents, the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) in association with the BJP, RSS, Bajrang Dal, Panchayat Samiti of Sukapur, Shivagiri Seva Sangh, Gayatri Parivaar, Sanatan Sanstha, locals and distressed parents acted promptly. They staged a “morcha” on the school on 5th September, 06 at 12 noon and interrogated Director of the school.

This resulted in the director of the school apologising for conducting exams during Ganeshotsava and an assurance that such an act will not recur. Also, the school declared a holiday on 6th September, 06 for Anant Chaturdashi. Protestors have strongly demanded that all irregularities be rectified within a week’s time or else, the agitation will be intensified!

Harassment of Hindu Students

More than 80 percent of the students of this school are Hindus.

Despite this, the school management debars Hindu girl students from wearing a ‘bindi’ on the forehead, wearing bangles and applying ‘mehendi’ on their hands.
When Hindu boy students apply ‘Tilak’ on their forehead on any given day, they are forced to wipe it off!
The school authorities cut off Rakhis adorned by Hindu boy students on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan!
Hindu students are forced to recite Catholic prayers against their wishes!
The school notebooks have the Catholic prayer printed on the first page, while India’s pledge and its National Anthem stands printed on the last page!
Every classroom had only Jesus’ picture.

Parents have complained about the abovesaid illegitimate actions of the school management to the HJS. Some of the complaints, in addition to that mentioned above, are as follows:

1. Class I students are being made to study the subject of Maths from four different textbooks. This is against the stipulated rules.
2. The seating arrangement for students in the school is pathetic.
3. Many people opine that the school does not have administrative approval of the Govt. The school management refuses to disclose the legal documents of the school and when questioned, gives vague answers.
4. Parents are not allowed to enter the premises of school.

In this regard, the HJS met with members of different organisations, political parties, panchayat samiti and other locals and informed them. Accordingly, it was decided that everyone should unitedly agitate against this injustice and stage the abovesaid “morcha”.

Accordingly, 60 members of different organisations, altogether including the Sarpanch and members of Sukapur Panchayat came together. As they were peacefully moving towards the Principal’s office to hand over a memorandum describing the different complaints, they were stopped and forcibly told that only one of the members could meet the Principal. This resulted in a wave of fury and some of the members angrily entered into the Principal, Smt. Bakshi’s cabin. Smt. Bakshi however refused to listen to anything and rudely asked the members to leave her cabin. The agitated members became more furious and started seeking explanations for the injustice inflicted on the Hindu students from the school management. At this time, the principal immediately called the Director of the school, Ms. Laxmi over the phone. The director, Ms. Laxmi, came immediately. She expressed that she herself was a Hindu and was seen to be wearing a ‘bindi’. When questioned, she clarified that girl students were restricted from wearing ‘bindis’ in order to abide by secular principles. However, she turned speechless when questioned as to why she was herself wearing a ‘bindi’ in that case! After judging the stance of the agitators, she publicly apologised for having conducted exams during the Ganeshotsava celebrations and assured that, henceforth, such acts would not recur. Also, the school declared a holiday for Anant Chaturdashi!

Thereafter, the speaker of the Panchayat Samiti along with the agitators inspected the school premises. There they found that every classroom had only Jesus’s picture. The classrooms had small windows; insufficient light and ventilation, due to which students were being taught in insufficient light! Post inspection, the agitators demanded that the school management resolve all the above issues. The Director requested for time to resolve all the issues. Accordingly, a week’s time was granted to the School Management with a notice that if the management failed to fulfill its commitment, the agitation would be intensified.

Finally, the school management gave in to the agitators and all the members shouted slogans related to the victory of Hindu Dharma in the school premise. The agitation was concluded by reciting the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’. The Director and other members of the school management were also made to recite the same!

Every classroom had only Jesus’ picture. HJS gave Ganapati Photo to School Director Laxmi and warned to display it prominently in school.

Highlights

1. Power of united Hindus: The Director of the school, Smt. Laxmi, had come along with a few Muslim ladies and was requesting them to come forward. However, after seeing the angry Hindu mob, they declined to come forward.

2. The school management’s policy of forcing Christian faith onto others comes to light: The agitators questioned the management that if the school abides by secular principles, why is there only the picture of Jesus and not of deities of other faith? To this, the management bluffed that pictures of other deities had got spoilt due to rains and had been given for lamination! When asked ‘How is that, only the pictures of Hindu deities got wet?’ there was no reply at all!

3. Shree Ganesh picture gifted to the School: A saatvic picture of Shree Ganesh brought out by Sanatan Sanstha was gifted to the school. This time, the agitators warned the school management that this Lord Ganesh’s picture be displayed in the school premises at all times! Also, they insisted that pictures of National persons and other deities be put up in the school within two days time!

The future course of agitation

1. Appeal to the Govt. to probe inquiry into Convent-managed schools of Raigad District: As a part of this agitation, the HJS is going to lodge a complaint with the State Administration to initiate strict action against the guilty in the above case. So also, an appeal will be made to the State Govt. authorities to probe a detailed inquiry into the improper occurrences taking place in convent-managed schools of Raigad District and details of the source of financial aid received by such schools.

Lucknow: Malicious conversion game happening in Convent schools came into light today. Parents of students in Loreto convent school complaint that the school held a seance which was witnessed by hundreds of students, besides staff members, during which several girls fainted in fright.

Aiming the conversion of innocent Hindu girls, School authorities invited one Nobo Kumar Mandal a Christian priest from West Bengal to show his Supernatural powers claimed to be gained with the help of Jesus.

Many of the girls fainted then and there seeing the black magic of this fraud pastor, He was invoking the dead and carrying on a live conversation with them, acted as the medium in the séance.

The man appeared on stage, first meditating and then writhing and shuddering on the ground as if in pain. “After a few agonizing moments he was up on his feet declaring Jesus was inside him and that he could bless anyone who sought his divine exaltation," Reports Reuters.

Taking a serious view of the matter and the complaint of the parents, the government ordered an inquiry by the District Magistrate and directed him to submit the report within three days, according to official sources here.

Devices used in Malegaon, Mumbai blasts identical: Police

MUMBAI: The explosive devices that killed 37 people in Malegaon possibly contained RDX and were identical to the bombs used in the blasts on commuter trains here on July 11, top police sources said here today.

"Not only are the devices used in the two attacks (in Malegaon and Mumbai) quite identical, and in the Malegaon blasts, the use of RDX is becoming evident," a top police official supervising the probe into the bombings told reporters here.

The forensic tests are now prompting investigators to probe the possibility of the perpetrators of the two attacks being the same persons or belonging to the same terrorist group, the sources said.

Investigators have also questioned some persons in Malegaon in connection with the use of two bicycles that were found at the site of the blasts and are believed to have been used to transport the explosive devices.

Thirty-one people were killed and nearly 300 injured in the four blasts near Noorani mosque, a nearby graveyard and the busy Mushaira Chowk in Malegaon on Friday.

A team from the Anti-Terrorism Squad is currently in Malegaon gathering clues and looking for leads in the case. The Maharashtra government has announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to the attackers.

Row at public tap turns violent, 6 held

Hyderabad, Sept. 9: The Madhapur police on Saturday chased a seven member-member gang who were fleeing in a Gypsy after attacking three persons with rods and injuring them seriously. Six of them were arrested and two iron rods, one licenced revolver, three boulders along with the vehicle (Gypsy-AP 9 5367) were seized from them.

Madhapur Inspector S. Jairam told this correspondent that a copy of a land document in litigation at Miyapur was also found under the gang’s possession. “We cannot rule out at this point of time whether this gang is connected to land mafia in Ranga Reddy district,” Mr Jairam said. Giving the details of the incident, the inspector said the issue started near a public tap at Madhapur when two residents, Devender and Naveen, were collecting water from the tap. The seven-member gang who were on their way to a farm house in Hitec City stopped their vehicle at the public tap and removed the vessels of the two men placed under the tap.

This resulted in heated argument between the two parties which soon turned violent. Two of the gang members took out iron rods from their vehicle and hit Devender and Naveen, both students, on their heads. Passers by who saw this, alerted the residents who rushed to the spot with boulders, sticks and iron rods. Seeing them, the seven-member gang started to flee but the mob broke the windshield of their vehicle.

However, the gang managed to speed away but not before injuring another person, Anjaneyulu. However, the locals who ran after them came across Mr Jairam, who chased the vehicle and arrested the gang. The arrested were identified as S.K. Zaheer, Mohammed Jaleel, Hameed, Abdul Majeed, Syed Ghouse and Shammeullah, while Laiq Hussain is absconding.

Heavy stone pelting by Muslims on the Ganesh idol and devotees

Dharashiv(Osmanabad):On the day of Ganesh Chaturdashi, there was a heavy stone pelting on the procession taken out for immersion of Ganesh idols damaging the Ganesh idol. The situation became very tense. Muslims also burnt one shop.

There was stone pelting even on a mosque. Police had to call for additional contingent of Reserve Police to control the situation. In this connection, the police have rounded off many members of Ganesh Mandals and even the people who had gathered to see the procession. Around 8.30 p.m. when the procession reached Shums Chowk, suddenly Muslims started pelting stones at the procession damaging the idol. Hindus also started pelting stones in self-defense.

Many Ganesh devotees have been seriously injured. Some Muslim youths while returning from ‘namaz’ set on fire a shop owned by a Ganesh devotee. The situation is very tense. There is discontent among people for arrests of innocent people who had gone to watch the procession.

For Hindus, cow is a sacred animal. According to Vedic civilization the COW is our mother, is to be given special protection. People worship cow as “Gomata”. “Gopuja” is a sacred ritual to respect cows which gives us pleasure by supplying milk essential for our growth and development. In the Vedic literature (Rig Veda 9.4.64) the words Gobhih Prinita-Matsaram indicate that one who, being fully satisfied by milk is desirous of killing the cow is in the grossest ignorance. Bhagavad-Gita Gita explains “Mamivamso Jiva-Bhutah (Bhagavat Gita 15.7), all living entities are part and parcel of God.

In India most of the states have laws that prohibit cow slaughter and cruelty to other animals. Except Communist ruled Kerala and West Bengal, it is a crime to engage in certain cruel acts toward cows. Most states arrest, prosecute and punish people who engage in unusual, cruel methods to inflict harm on animals. In Kerala and West Bengal, two communist and Muslims dominated states, there is no law for the ethical treatment of animals.

If you wake up in the early morning at 3:00 and walk out to any market place in Kerala, you can see horrible, heartbreaking, and cruel scene of cow slaughtering. Cows are tied up in a short rope to prevent moving. Then a water pipe with steel wire is inserted into the mouth of the cow deep into its stomach. Calcium oxide (commonly known as lime) and other chemical added water are pumped into the cow’s stomach for 3 to 5 minutes to increase its weight for profit. It is an inhumane and unhealthy practice inflicting pain on the cow and disease for the meat eaters. The helpless cow routinely suffer broken bones and feel terrible pain from callous handling when butchers roughly grab the cow by their legs and shackled down prior to slaughtering. After flooding the stomach with water added with calcium oxide (lime), the cow is knocked on the head with a big iron hammer, then dismembered while still conscious. Other cows waiting in line for slaughtering watch and moan loudly. Do butchers and meat eaters ever think of the pain cows suffer when they are dragged, mishandled and beheaded while still alive?

The unethical, cruel and brutal killing of cows is painful to watch. The cows are being butchered in the illegal slaughter houses mushrooming in every nook and corner of Kerala. Sources reveal that there are more than 7,000 illegal, unhygienic, primitive cow slaughter hoses in Kerala. The slaughter of cows is already banned in most Indian states, but persists in Kerala, that has significant non Hindu population. The open, cruel and inhumane slaughter of cows is a painful scene, an immoral and brutal criminal act. Thousands of malnourished, mistreated cows are openly slaughtered in public view illegally and unethically every day in Kerala and West Bengal. The cruel process of transporting malnourished, unhealthy cows for early morning slaughter for food is the worst form of human activity one can undertake. The cruelty to animals which causes unacceptable harm is one of the sadistic forms of human behavior.

Psychological studies have demonstrated that individuals deliberately inflicting suffering on animals are more prone to do harm on humans. People with criminal personality, anti social personality disorder have a history of torturing animals, a behavior disorder known as zoosadism. Criminal records indicate that a history of cruelty to animals is one of the traits that regularly appear in the records of rapists and murderers. Cruelty to animals is one of the components of behavior traits violent criminals. No wonder, murder, rape and violent crimes are on the increase in Kerala.

In India, the majority of the people are vegetarians and crime rates among vegetarians are the lowest in the world. Hindus consider cow is sacred and consider cow as Gau Mata and it is closely linked true events of Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva. Srimad-Bhagavatam (1:16:22) depicts an incident where Pariksit Maharaja was touring his kingdom where he found a man trying to kill a cow. Immediately, Pariksit Maharaja took his sword and wanted to kill the man. Pariksit Maharaja declared “there is equal protection for the animals and the man in our kingdom”.

In Srimad-Bhagavatam, this grizzly fate of animal killers is described by Narada Muni to king Pracinabarthi, who was killing animals in so called sacrifices.

“O ruler of the citizens, my dear king, please sees in the sky those animals which you have sacrificed without compassion and without mercy in the sacrificial arena. All those animals are awaiting your death so that they can avenge the injuries you have inflicted upon them. After you die they will angrily pierce your body with iron horns (Srimad Bhagavatam 4:25-7-8)”.

The communist/Muslim/Christian dominated Kerala and West Bengal cruelty to animal and cruel cow slaughter persist. Government in these two states are afraid to implement laws for animal protection and existing laws are lax and seldom enforced for fear of Muslim/Christian pressure and it will surely dent their vote bank.

Whenever Hindu organizations or Hindu spiritual leaders protest against cruelty to animals and cow slaughter, the phony secularists and westernized media project them as communalists and anti Muslim and anti Christian. The same bogus politicians, pseudo secularists and leftist intellectuals keep silence when asked why pig slaughter is banned in all Islamic countries. Kerala Visual medias are worried about the quality of meet and unhygienic meat process plants. But they are either ignore or keep mum on the cruel treatment of animals and brutal slaughter of cows in thousands of illegal slaughter houses mushrooming all over Kerala. The unholy Communist/Christian/Muslim and anti Hindu media alliance is preoccupied with appeasing the appeasement of meat eating population and not give damn about the sacred sentiments of cow worshiping Hindus. They failed to realize or ignore that cow is a sacred animal and cows are an integral part of Indian civilization and economy.

It is time for Hindus to join together and pressure the government to enact legislation to prevent cruelty to animals and ban cow slaughter. Hindus should promote humane education to promote vegetarian diets and to stop meat eating. Special education should focus on instilling respect and compassion for animals and respect for our sacred cows. Organized efforts are needed to force the government to enact statutes to provide care, humane treatment of animals and mandatory kindness.

Animals have rights, cows are sacred, let us protect our sacred heritage, our sacred Gomata have every right to live. Protect our cows, save our nation.

The name of the research institution is Sorbonne University, Paris, France. The researcher is Dr. (Father) Vincent Kundukulam of St Joseph Pontifical Seminary, Aluva, Kerala. The thesis for the doctoral research is: Le RSS Et L'Eglise En Inde (RSS and Church in India).

To Fr. Kundukulam goes the credit for being the first Christian priest to do a doctoral thesis on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, that too in a foreign university. He is also the first clergyman to author a book on the RSS titled RSS: Enthu? Engott? (What is RSS and Where is it headed for).

In fact, a former clergyman, Anthony Elenjimittam, had published a book titled RSS: Bharathiya Samskruthiyude Kavalsena (RSS: Watchdog of Indian Culture) way back in 1951, but he had ceased to be a priest and had taken to social service when the book was published.

Kundukulam to conduct a research on the RSS was his conviction that the Catholic church should closely study the philosophy, organisational structure and working of all the socio-politico-cultural movements in the society in which it operates, imbibe the best in them, and invite a dialogue on their negative aspects.

The phenomenal growth of the RSS in post-Independent India, with its tentacles firmly rooted in all walks of life, all nooks and corners of the country, kindled his curiosity. In Madhya Pradesh, he came across a European who had been doing a doctoral thesis on 'Hindu nationalism' in the Sorbonne University.

"When I broached the idea of writing a book on my research findings on the RSS, some of my co-religionists cautioned me that the RSS men would beat me up if I wrote something against them. I have in my assessment of the RSS tried to be as objective as possible. It is of immense satisfaction to me that my book is well-received in the church and RSS circles," said Fr. Kundukulam in an interview at the Pontifical Seminary.

The conclusion drawn by Fr. Kundukulam is that RSS cannot be considered as a nationalist organisation in the sense in which the term 'nationalism' is generally interpreted in India. Nationalism represents the collective consciousness of the people transcending all barriers of caste, religion, etc. A nationalist is one who is primarily indebted to the nation. Religion has no place in nationalism. In this sense, Fr. Kundukulam argues, RSS, whose primary loyalty is to the Hindus, can hardly be called a nationalist organisation. In his view, RSS is a multi-faceted organisation which is political, cultural, religious and voluntary in nature and approach.

Different facets gain upperhand at different times depending on social and political exigencies.

At the same time, Fr. Kundukulam argues against branding the RSS ideology as fascism, Nazism, fundamentalism and communalism. He said the terms fascism, Nazism, and fundamentalism are much abused terms in India. They have a distinct connotation in the European context that can hardly apply to the Indian milieu.

The term fundamentalism was first coined inthe context of the emergence of the Protestant movement in the Christian church in America in the twenties.

The ideology of the RSS and the way in which it is interpreted by the Sangh leaders borrowing modern terminology have no camparison to the sense in which the term fundamentalism was used in America. So also, fascism and Nazism do have distinct meanings in the socio-political contexts that prevailed in Italy and Germany which have no bearing in the Indian context.

Fr. Kundukulam felt that communalism is not at all a part of religion. Communalism is nothing but mobilisation of people on communal lines to serve a specific cause. RSS can, therefore, be said to be communal only in a limited sense. BJP, the political arm of the RSS, during its rule at the Centre has not committed any acts that could truly be described as fundamentalist, fascist, or communal. "In fact, one of the first acts of A B Vajpayee after taking over as Prime Minister last time was to call on Mother Teresa and Delhi Archbishop," he said.

Fr. Kundukulam felt that the socio-political milieu of India offers a fertile ground for the RSS to grow.

One admirable aspect of the RSS, Fr Kundukulam says, is its flexibility to move with the times and to adopt the best from other socio-cultural-religious movements. It learnt the rudiments of social work from the missionary organisations of the church and mass mobilisation techniques from the communists.

He admires the RSS for the dedication and discipline of its cadres, the simple life style of its pracharaks, the moral teaching it imparts to the younger generation in its daily sakhas, and the voluntary labour put in by its cadres at critical times such as natural calamities.

Indian society, Fr Kundukulam feels, is in a "vicious circle" with the majority Hindu community suffering from a "psychological inferiority complex" on account of its failure to have a proportionate say in the governance of the country in spite of its numerical superiority and the minorities always suspicious of the majority community. The growth of minority fundamentalism would only strengthen the RSS.

"India can prosper only by strengthening the forces of democracy and secularism and ensuring economic justice to the people," concludes Fr. Kundukulam who is now busy working on the second edition of his book.

Ø 30,000 temples were destroyed during the Mughal regimes and it is not an issue for biased Indian media, but when Hindus wanted to reconstruct temples in Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura, the media twists it is an attempt to communalize Indian society!

Ø About the recent Vadodara unrest. 14 temples blocking the road were demolished, no objection from any Hindus. One similar Dargah was demolished became a national problem!. All the prominent medias called for Narendra Modi to resign following this incident and became the headlines in all the national Medias.

Ø Finally, the recent Mumbai blasts. Communist sponsored English newspaper THE HINDU was busy in highlighting the rescue operations carried out by the Muslims and the number of Muslims attended in blood donation camps after terrorist attack. But THE HINDU journalist who reported this news deliberately ignored selfless services of Hindu Organizations in Mumbai.

It must be that the media take pleasure in spreading persistent, pervasive lies about Hindus. What else could explain the credulous acceptance of lies, half-truths and distortion of news about Hindus and selfless services of nationalist Hindu organizations?.

The inconsistencies, deceptions, and outright falsehoods about the reports are obvious. It is profoundly disturbing to note that the picture that continues to emerge from the media about Hindus, in which passive, peace loving, tolerant, nationalist Hindus come out as aggressive, militant, fundamentalists, and the violent, non compromising Muslim and Christian gangs come out as victims.

The hysteria emanating from the journalists is so persistent that the innocent readers may get a negative image of Hindus. This psycho-linguistic programming of the media and deliberate false reporting is not only patently false but also encourage Muslim, Christian and Communist terrorists to continue their deadly, terrorist, and irrational anti national activities.

Hindus must wake up from complacency, and denial, take affairs into their own hands and shape their own destinies. Hindus must unite, reassess themselves, address the media bias and voice their feelings forcefully and assertively with the hostile media.

Hindus must tell the media in strong words and actions that they should not be trifled with.

Over 800 Maoist rockets, launchers seized in Andhra

Hyderabad, Sep 8 (IANS) In one of the biggest arms haul in India in recent times, police in Andhra Pradesh state seized a huge cache of weapons consisting of 800 rocket shells, dozens of launchers and other arms and ammunition meant for Maoist extremists.

Police seized 600 shells, 15 launchers, 12 claymore mines and several rounds of 303 rifles in Mahabubnagar district late Thursday. In yet another haul Friday, police seized 275 rocket shells, two dozen launchers and 26 bags of rocket spares and ammunition in Prakasam district.

Police have claimed that the huge cache being sent through a transport company were meant for Maoist guerrillas in Nallamalla forests. The extremists had planned to use them for carrying out attacks on police forces.

The recovery also sent the alarm bells ringing in top echelons of police as it showed the kind of arms and sophistication the Maoists were trying to achieve.

"This is the largest number of rocket shells recovered in the country. It is the most significant recovery in our war against Maoists," said Director General of Police Swaranjit Sen, who inspected the seized arms at Mahabubnagar.

He said the seized rockets had the capacity to be fired from shoulder-mounted launchers with a range to hit targets at a distance of one kilometre. "Even a person on a motorcycle can launch these rockets," said Sen. All the rocket shells weighing more than 2000 kg, however, were without explosives.

Both the seizures were made from the warehouses of Kranti Motor Transport Company. Acting on the information provided by a person arrested following the seizure in Acchampet in Mahabubnagar district, police raided the transport company's branch in Giddalur in Prakasam district on Friday and found another huge haul of arms.

Police then began raids on more than 400 branches of the company throughout the state. Police teams are also checking the warehouses of the company in Vijayawada, where it has its headquarters.

Police believe the rockets were made in Tamil Nadu and the consignment to Acchampet was sent from Vijayawada while the one to Giddalur had come from Kadpa. They were meant for Maoists in Nallamalla forests, the stronghold of the outlawed Communist Party of India-Maoist.

Many Maoists including top rebel leaders are believed to be hiding in the dense forests spread over five districts including Mahabubnagar and Prakasam.

Home Minister K. Jana Reddy described the recovery as "a huge success" for police and intelligence agencies.

"This shows that the intelligence and police have stepped up their vigilance," he said here.

The seizure follows the killing in July of a Maoist leader and seven guerrillas in the Nallamalla forests of Prakasam district.

Maoist violence has claimed more than 6,000 lives in the state over the last three decades including those of 2,500 civilians, policemen and politicians.

New Delhi: The Indian military is not seriously concerned over the noticeable movement of Pakistani troops close to the Jammu and Kashmir border.

Military officials say they have noted the troop movements but there is nothing alarming - for now.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, military sources said that they discounted the possibility of Pakistan conducting any surgical strikes in Jammu and Kashmir in view of its troubles domestically and along the Afghan border.

The troop movement has taken place in recent days along the Line of Control (LoC) that divides Jammu and Kashmir between the two countries. No induction of Pakistani military has been noticed on Kashmir's international border.

"The (intelligence) inputs have been studied. The conclusion is that nothing alarming should be read into them," an army officer said.

"We are alert to these developments but see no reason to make any additional deployments at this point of time," he added.

The inputs say there has been considerable movement of Pakistani troops in two areas: at Chakoti in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, facing Naushera town in the Indian Jammu and Kashmir.

The Pakistan Army's 19 Division has reportedly moved from its peacetime headquarters at Jhelum to Chakoti and has been reinforced with three brigades and Special Forces personnel.

Simultaneously, an additional brigade has been moved up to face Naushera.

At one level, this could be constituted as preparations for a quick and surgical operation. But, as an Indian Army officer explained, Pakistan's elite 1 Corps based at Mangala - which would be expected to carry out such a strike - had been considerably depleted due to troubles in Balochistan and on the Afghan border.

Persecution of Hindus in Malaysia !

Among the Muslim countries, Malaysia, is considered as advanced; but presently under the guise of local municipal development at the rate of one Hindu temple per week is being demolished in Malaysia. Malaysia has a Hindu population of about 17 lakhs. Malaysia became independent in the year 1957. At that time an assurance was given that the places of prayer of religions other than Islam would be registered and their land would be mentioned in the Government Gazette as reserved land.

This assurance is incorporated in the 8th clause of the Malaysian Constitution, but in actual fact from 1957 to date not a single Hindu temple has been registered so. As a result these temples are declared as unauthorized constructions and demolished under the guise of town development. Shri. Sammy Velu, a Hindu is a minister in the Malaysian Government. On 7th of July he raised his voice to this Hindu Persecution and insisted that the Hindu temples be registered.

There after they were registered. It was then decided that it would be compulsory to give alternative land if a temple had to be demolished for development of the town. Within a week of the minister’s appeal a Hindu temple in Petaling Jaya was demolished and the alternative land was given near the Municipality’s sewage recycling center. The Mayor while awarding the plot of land, impudently said, “Oh Hindu Brothers! If you are going to pray to your numerous Gods, pray that the stink in world disappears!”
While the temple in Petaling Jaya was being demolished, the 100 uniformed Muslim Policemen and the Muslim Public clapped joyously.

Some Hindus tried to stop the demolition by Satyagraha (Peaceful protest in a constitutional manner) in front of the temple entrance. Muslim goons beat them up and the police played the role of spectators. The Hindu community complained about this incident to the attorney General of Malaysia as well as the Central Minister Seri Nasir Aziz. Both gave an assurance that there will be an inquiry into the incident. But in fact nothing happened. In the current year from February, till now 26 large and 68 small temples have been demolished in Malaysia.

The moral is that the Muslims will not have a change of heart by Satyagraha. They understand the language of force. So the Hindus have to imbibe Kshatradharma and fight with all their might against the attack on their religion. The Hindu Unity alone will bring leaders, like Shri. Shivraj Patil who beg for the cumulative Muslims votes, to their senses!

Controversial poster on Vande Mataram

AN anonymous poster about why Vande Mataram should not be made compulsory became the center of attraction and controversy on Tuesday morning at M S University. The poster was stuck outside the MSU Faculty of Commerce and caused much consternation among the students and passers-by who read it. It was later torn down by a couple of students.

The poster's title was 'There is no God, but only one God vs. Vande Mataram. The poster also goes on to clearly explain why the singing of the national song is against the fundamental tenets of Islam. According to the poster, Vande Mataram means worship of the mother, mother being a metaphor for India. So in singing the song, Muslims would be defying the tenet that says there is only one God. The poster also goes on to explain that Muslims must not be forced to choose the nation over faith.

According to experts in Islam, a learned individual who has an excellent command over Islam, Hindi and Gujarati has scripted the poster. Political drama was the first thought that came into the minds of most people who read the poster. One student said, ''It is quite obvious that this is some political gimmick to start some trouble for Wednesday's Ganesh visarjan.

'' Some, however, were convinced it for real and were upset over the poster's subject. After a while, a Hindu-Muslim duo, Imraan and Rajesh, spoke about the issue to the media and the crowd gathered at the spot. They said they had been friends since primary school and had been singing the national song ever since.

Imraan also said that he had no problem singing the song. The duo then proceeded to tear the poster to bits, leaving the message only in the minds of those who read it.

After Vande Mataram muslim fanatics target Onam

After opposing the recital of national song Vande Mataram, the Muslim fundamentalists have now targeted Onam, perhaps the most secular festival in the country after Republic Day and Independence Day.

Kerala’s renowned harvest festival has always been cited as a symbol of the state’s secular character as it has for centuries been celebrated by Hindus, Muslims and Christians alike despite its Hindu origins. The annual boat race, the traditional pookkalams (floral arrangements) and the ‘Ona Sadya’ (festival cuisine) associated with the event have come to be identified with Kerala’s culture itself. In fact, the state’s tourism season officially begins with the Onam festival.

However, the Muslim fundamentalists in the state, who are increasingly gaining strength, even electorally, under banners like the People’s Democratic Party, thought otherwise. The Muslim management of the AWH Engineering College at Kuttikattoor in the pre-dominantly Muslim Kozhikode district decided to prohibit Onam celebrations on the campus. Senior students had collected money for Onam celebrations last.

“The juniors were subjected to ragging during such celebrations and we wanted to prevent recurrence of such incidents,” was the specious response of College Principal Ahamed Kutty.

Defending the indefensible, AWH Secretary Muhammed said: “The decision to ban such celebrations is only to uphold college discipline.”

However, even as the secularist media which paint the town red when the Madhya Pradesh government decides to do away with some nursery rhymes or an insignificant poem on ‘Chacha’ Nehru, chose to maintain a dead silence. The students of the college responded by organising pookkalams (floral arrangements) outside the Principal’s room. As a novel way of protest, they organised similar arrangements in every room of the college. “Every Malayalee has the right to celebrate the festival, irrespective of caste and creed,” said a students leader.

Condemning the incident, BJP National Vice-President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told Organiser: “Unfortunately, today there is a competition to destroy the nation’s culture and identity. The so-called secularist mindset is gradually converting to separatist mindset.” The college management’s decision also came under attack from nationalist organisations in the state.

The national media may have played down the incident but they would do well to remember that the Marad killings, the Sabarimala controversy, the Kerala Assembly’s unanimous resolution demanding the release of Coimbatore blast accused Abdul Nasser Madani and the victory of extremist candidates defeating the ‘moderates’ in Malappuram district in the recent Assembly polls are not isolated incidents. They mark the turning points in the state’s emergence as a fundamentalist hub over the years. They represent the attempts to denigrate the Hindu religion. They reflect the efforts to tear apart the secular fabric of the most literate state in the country. The pseudo-secularists should understand that it is the mindset and not literacy that matters.

Shiva temple attacked, Lingam destroyed in Rajasthan

The incident occurred in Gangapur village, 250 km from Jaipur on Monday night, Superintendent of Police Govind Gupta said.

He said a case has been registered in this connection but no arrest has been made so far.

The locals have, however, restored another Shivalinga in its place, he said.

BJP President Rajnath Singh attacked Congress President for refusing to sing national song. "She is the President of the Congress party and she still did not take part in the function organised to celebrate the 100 years of Vande Mataram," said BJP Chief.

However, when the journalists asked her absence in the function, Congress leader Ahmed Patel defended it by saying the song cannot be forced on anyone. Mr. Patel said that Sonia’s refusal to sing national song is not an issue and should not be made in to an issue.

VHP issues call on `Vande Mataram'

AHMEDABAD: The controversy over the recitation of `Vande Mataram' further deepened on Tuesday with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad international president, Ashok Singhal, asking the opponents of the national song to "leave this country."

Mr. Singhal, who was on a day's visit to Ahmedabad, said all Indians should worship "Bharatmata" as our homeland is like our mother. "She is Bharatmata for Muslims also and they should not have any objections to recite Vande Mataram which is sung in praise of mother India," he said. "If anyone has any objections against Bharatmata and cannot recite the song, they should leave this country," Mr Singhal said.

In contrast, the Jammat-e-Ulema Hind president, Moulana Sayed Mohammad Madni, a member of the Rajya Sabha, asked the Muslims not to participate in the mass singing of Vande Mataram. Mr. Madni said Muslims regard Allah as the only God. He said Indian Muslims regard India as their own country and believe the homeland to be their mother but Islam forbade worshiping anybody else other than Allah and since Vande Mataram called for worshipping the motherland, it was not acceptable to the Muslims. He also cautioned that all those who were insisting on everyone to sing Vande Mataram forcibly were only "strengthening the hands of the terrorists."

Anonymous posters have come up in various parts of Vadodara and other centres in Gujarat condemning compulsory singing of the national song. Hundreds of such posters were found pasted on the walls of the Maharaja Sayajirao University campus in Vadodara, which enraged a section of the students who launched a cleaning operation of the college walls.

Moulana Mufti Akmal of Vadodara supported Deoband Darul Uloom's appeal to the Muslim students to stay away from singing the national song.

The former director of the Oriental Institute of the M. S. University, Vadodara, Rajendra Nanavati, has questioned the centenary celebrations of the Vande Mataram this year claiming that the song was composed by Bankim Chandra Chottopadhyay in 1875 and not in 1905.

Evangelical Tourism in Kerala to promote conversion

Now State government takes the initiative to sponsor conversion in Kerala in the name of Evangelical Tourism. In order to woo the Church and Foreign Missionaries Kerala government decided to list Manarcaud St Mary’s Cathedral in Kottayam as a Pilgrim centre.

This was announced by Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Minister for Home and Tourism here on Sunday. The government believes that it has a responsibility to ensure sufficient infrastructure and facilities for the Christian missionaries engaged in conversion activities in the State.

He laid the foundation stone for the pilgrims quarters to set up in the vicinity of the Cathedral at a cost of Rs one crore and he will make sure sufficient State and Central Government grant is being allocated for this project.

The Finance minister laments in daily basis that State Treasury is empty, But such appeasing policies cannot wait, as it is their only agenda. The Government also wilfully forgets that this same church gets huge amount of donations within India and also from western countries. The whole site is well maintained with the help of Dollars and Pounds compared to Temples in Kerala.

Apart from looting our Temples, we are forced to contribute money generously for the development activities in and around our Temples while the Government wont dare to touch the money from a Mosque or Church.

Few instance of Temple Looting

The Kerala State Electricity Board is charging Rs. 16/- per unit in Sabarimala, where as the normal rate is around Rs 4/-.

The TDB has to foot a bill of Rs. 75 lakhs for the police service;

The Kerala water Authority charges around Rs. 40 lakhs.

The Health department bill is around Rs. 55 lakhs for every season.

The Dewaswom has to pay around Rs. 25 lakhs to the sanitation society headed by the district collector for the cleaning work.

The roads leading to Pampa are going to be built on BOT basis. That means new tollgates are going to come up, again to exploit the poor pilgrim!

Even after this shameless looting State exchequer gets around Rs 250 crores as additional revenue from one Sabarimala season.

Travancore Dewaswom Board was recently made to pay Rs. 6.5 crores as compensation for getting 110 hectares of forestland in Nilakkal to provide amenities to pilgrims. By shelling out this huge amount, the Dewaswom Board has today become almost bankrupt. The maintenance and developmental work at 1300 temples have been affected at least for the next 3 years. And to top it all, the so-called forestland handed over to the Dewaswom Board at Nilakkal is in fact plantation land. Do you know that 58 acres of land has been leased out to the Malayattur Church for just Rs. 100 per year per acre?

The Guruvayoor Dewaswom has decided to contribute Rs 24 crores from the temple funds for funding a drinking water project in 10 nearby panchayats. On the periphery, it sounds like a good idea. But note one thing. There are about 40 Christian and Muslim Churches in these 10 panchayats. Some of them like Chavakkad mosque have equal or more income than the Guruvayoor temple. But no one can touch even a single paisa offered at the mosque or church, whereas temple money is used for general purposes according to the whims and fancies of its administrators. In another way, you can say that the money offered by a devotee in Guruvayoor Temple will be utilized to provide water supply to the Chavakkad mosque!

The compassionate Christians in Kottayam and Moderate Muslims in Malappuram were in the forefront in Sabotaging the Railway lines to Sabarimala and Guruvayur respectively.

The new policies of Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan to commercialize the Temples, Irresponsible statements of Temple Minister Sudhakaran on Sabarimala and this present move to promote conversion in the name of Evangelical Tourism should be vehemently opposed by the Hindus all over the world, to prevent the extinction of Hindus from the land of Adi Sankara.

ISI agents appointed in Assam's welfare deptt

Pakistan's ISI agents have been appointed in the Assam Social Welfare Department where 250 persons of a particular community were also illegally given jobs, the Opposition Asom Gana Parishad alleged on Wednesday, quoting from what it said was a secret Government report. A bid to create communal tension foiled
HYDERABAD: The city police have bust a plan by some elements to allegedly kill a VHP or BJP leader during the Ganesha idol immersion ceremony scheduled for September 6 with the arrest of Mohammed Shakil (24) late on Sunday night.

According to police sources, Shakil and his associates were plotting to carry out the killing on Sept 6 and unleash communal violence.

However, counter intelligence agents trailed his movements and foiled the evil design.

Shakil reportedly told his interrogators of the plan to kill a leader in the Saidabad area of the city and create communal tension.

It was learnt the police seized some CDs from Shakil containing inflammatory speeches and footage of Babri Masjid destruction and the Gujarat massacre.

Police were now searching for two associates of Shakil who managed to escape. Meanwhile, security has been tightened in the capital for the immersion ceremony following the arrest.

AYODHYA : The issue of religious conversions would be top on the agenda of a three-day meeting of Vishwa Hindu Parishad meeting beginning at Rameshwar on September 15, its spokesman said on Monday.

Protection against conversion and attempt to bring back those already converted would be the major issues taken up at the meeting to be attended by top VHP leaders, the spokesman Sharad Sharma said.

He said Hindu organisations would have to formulate a strategy to counter conversions as it posed a "serious danger to the integrity of the country".

Sharma said the VHP would be undertaking construction of temples, schools and hostels in parts of the country to ensure welfare of those who had chosen to return to the Hindu fold.

Ponda :An anonymous letter was received through post at the office of VHP in Khadapabandh, Ponda threatening to stop all religious activities within a week otherwise face carnage. The letter is in English and below the matter is written ‘Al Uma’.

A few months ago, there were riots on the issue of demolition of unauthorized construction of a mosque at Sawarde when a similar letter was received by VHP. This is the second letter. The letter has been addressed to the General Secretary of VHP. The letter bears no stamp of any post office and was returned to the post office at Ponda.

All-party team seeks ban on NDF

MALAPPURAM: An all-party delegation from Manjeri has complained to the Chief Minister about the activities of the NDF outfit in the area.

The group, consisting of workers from the CPM, the Congress and the Muslim League, who also met Malappuram SP Tarun Kumar, said that the NDF was causing law and order problems in the area.

In the complaint the delegation urged a ban on the NDF and sought a comprehensive probe into the NDF activities by Crime Branch or CBI. When contacted, SP told to this website's newspaper that he had received a copy of the complaint given by the all-party committee members the other day.

The anti-NDF feeling in the area came about after a tussle between the NDF and the other parties at Pulpatta panchayat in Manjeri following the dismantling of an alleged sex racket in the area. The locals in the area allege that the estate, considered to be the hub of training activities of the NDF, is the centre of all the problems.

On Friday, an all-party meeting, attended by the local leaders of the Congress, the League and the CPM, was held in Manjeri with the aim of mobilising people’s support against the NDF.

Their main contention was that the estate had become a safe haven for unscrupulous elements protected by the NDF.

They vowed that they are committed to fight the kind of terrorism undertaken by a ‘section in society’ with an apparent reference to the NDF. They said that they decided to come out in the open following law and order problems created in the Pulpatta panchayat.

The committee has decided to undertake campaigns so as to keep the younger generation from falling prey to the activities of the NDF.

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA, September 1, 2006: (HPI note: This is a momentous victory for the Hindu community, despite the fact the books remain in the schools. It puts other US states on notice that the kind of adoption process seen in California is not acceptable.)

The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) prevailed today in its legal action on behalf of Hindu parents from California against the California School Board of Education (SBE). But in a mixed ruling, the demand by HAF that the SBE be required to throw out the currently approved textbooks and revisit the entire textbook adoption process was denied.

HAF brought the lawsuit contending that the procedure through which the SBE reviewed and approved revisions in sixth grade textbooks, especially as to their presentation of Hinduism, was not conducted under regulations required under the California Administrative Procedures Act and contravened the Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act. As a resul t, HAF held, anti-Hindu academics were illegally allowed to bias the process against Hindu parents and students in California resulting in textbooks that presented the debunked Aryan Migration Theory as fact, misrepresented caste as central to Hinduism and left the impression that Hinduism devalued the role of women.

In his ruling on Hindu American Foundation, et al., v. California State Board of Education, et al, Case No. 06 CS 00386, Judge Patrick Marlette of the California Superior Court upheld HAF's claim that the textbook adoption process was flawed and illegal. Judge Marlette wrote that the California SBE, "at all times relevant to this matter has been conducting its textbook approval process under invalid 'underground regulations.'" He withheld an opinion on the violation of the open meeting act deciding that since the entire process was already "invalid" a specific ruling would be redundant.

In his conflicted ruling, however, Judge Marlette rule d that the "relief" demanded by HAF -- that is to reject the textbooks adopted under an illegal process -- would be disruptive not only to those affected sixth graders, but potentially every California public school student using any and every textbooks adopted under the SBE's unlawful policies. Judge Marlette wrote, "The Court therefore determines.that respondent [SBE] should be permitted a reasonable opportunity to correct the deficiencies in its regulatory framework governing the textbook approval process.while maintaining the current system in the interim."

"We are pleased, of course, that Judge Marlette agreed with our position all along that the process in adopting the textbooks was flawed and illegal," said Suhag Shukla, Esq., legal counsel of HAF who coordinated the lawsuit with attorneys at Olson Hagel and Fishburn, LLP in representing HAF and Hindu parents. "It would seem logical that if the process was illegal, then the resulting textbooks must be tossed out and the adoption process repeated. Apparently, Judge Marlette is reluctant to reject possibly millions of books, in addition to those in this case covering sixth grade social studies, that could be implicated and allowed them to stand for now-that is very disappointing."

Despite stating that he considered the declarations and correspondences attesting to the inaccuracies and discrepancies in the Hinduism section of adopted textbooks from several scholars that actually teach Hinduism, including a past president of the American Academy of Religion (AAR) and current co-chairs of the Hinduism Unit of the AAR, Judge Marlette held that the textbooks were not necessarily illegal in terms of the standards set forth by the education code because they were not "grossly inaccurate."

HAF attorneys interpreted the ruling to mean that the focus of Hindu parents and HAF in California and other states should shift to changing the standards and framework that set the criteria that must be covered in any textbook covering Hinduism. If those standards accurately reflect the Hinduism that most Hindus practice, then the textbooks will necessarily comply. Current standards, they held, are grossly outdated and inaccurate.

So while the process followe d in adopting the contentious Hinduism sections, and all recently approved textbooks in California, was illegal-as HAF had argued-the judge apparently decided against a sweeping ruling that could open the door to other lawsuits discarding textbooks in the most populous state in the United States. HAF attorneys are considering their options for an appeal of this lawsuit to force revisions to the Hinduism section in the contested textbooks.

Importantly, Judge Marlette read versions of the textbooks that already had been significantly improved in their coverage of Hinduism due to the efforts of the Hindu Education Foundation and Vedic Foundation. This success was in spite of the efforts of a subsection of non-Hindu academics historically antagonistic to practitioners of Hinduism, and a coalition of Indian communist and anti-Hindu groups.

While the immediate goal of revising textbooks beyond the changes was unmet, HAF leaders expressed satisfaction that their efforts will ultimately benefit all Californians in having reinstated public accountability to the actions of the SBE.

"Over 14 years ago, in 1992, another California court ordered the SBE to revamp its textbook adoption processes to bring it in compliance with the law and all of thi s time, the SBE has been ignoring that. It's taken HAF's lawsuit to put the SBE's proverbial feet to the fire," said Shukla. "HAF, and the efforts of a talented team of attorneys at Olson Hagel and Fishburn, have ensured that the SBE will end its pattern of misleading California public school students by acting arbitrarily, and in the case of Hindus, unfairly and inequitably."

Judge Marlette in his ruling also rejected outright an amicus, or friend-of-the-court, brief against HAF and Hindu parents filed by a coalition of anti-Hindu and communist groups, as it lacked merit and relevance.

"Our lawsuit was the first collective effort by a wide array of Hindu American groups to counter a major injustice perpetrated against them," said Mihir Meghani, M.D., President of HAF. "Our action, enabled entirely by the support of Americans living throughout our nation, is a testament to the Hindu community's potential and determination to ascertain a secure and confi dent future for the next generation of Hindu Americans. Today, Hindus have a voice, and they have asserted that they will never again remain silent spectators as they shape their destiny in this great country."

Bangladeshis overpower cops, hold them hostage

Even the police are not safe in the national Capital. A gang of Bangladeshis overpowered a police team late on Thursday night, snatched their service weapon, made them hostage and fired at them from the official weapon. The police team had to call the PCR to save their lives. Three policemen sustained bullet injuries in the process.

The incident took place on Thursday when a police team posted at the Sunlight Colony police post went looking for an accused in a murder case registered with the Srinvaspuri police station. Two Head Constables, Jagdish and Kailash, and a Constable of the Delhi Police received injuries. They were rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where they are recuperating.

As soon as the police reached the B Block at Jungpura, a gang of at least 10 Bangladeshis surrounded the patrolling party.

"The immigrants attacked us and even snatched the revolver from our hands and opened fire at us," said a police officer.

One of the policemen made a call to the Police Control Room (PCR) and even flashed a message through the wireless set.

Soon a heavy posse of policemen from the Hazrat Nizamuddin police station reached the spot and managed to save the policemen.

At that point of time even then the cops did not dare to nab the accused Mohammad, whom the police had come searching for.

The policemen had to wait for dawn to arrest the accused. A large number of police personnel reached the slum cluster on Friday morning and arrested the accused.

According to police, the slum 'Bangali Basti' at Jungpura is home to several hundreds of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.

"These immigrants have so much unity that they nearly killed us on Thursday. This is the first time that they attacked a police party," added the officer.

It is a surprise how the authorities gave permission to the channel to telecast such a documentary. The documentary, which was aired as a 'CNN Exclusive' had a lot of footages from 'Al Jazeera'.

It may not have much impact in western countries as the Muslim population is on the lower side and their politicians do not indulge in minority appeasements in the name of secularism. NEW DELHI: RSS chief K S Sudarshan on Wednesday said the singing of Vande Mataram should be made compulsory in all schools, including madarsas.

"Why not? It has to be made compulsory everywhere," he told reporters when asked whether the singing of the national song should be made compulsory in Islamic schools.

His comments came after he released a book titled "Samrasta Ke Sutra" in the capital.

"One who does not consider mother India one's own mother cannot be the citizen of India," Sudarshan remarked.

In his address earlier, the Sangh chief also credited the RSS with efforts to bring about equality in Indian society.

Also, he said the RSS aimed to consolidate Hindu society by breaking caste prejudices.

"We all are Hindu brothers. Castes will be there. But, we should aim to end prejudices that have arisen from them," he said.

At a meet on Wednesday attended by over 700 Hindus, a resolution on forming a Hindu political party was read by Srichand Sidhwani, a senior community activist.

It was seconded by Babu Suseelan, a psychiatrist from Pennsylvania, according to India Post, an ethnic newspaper.

Hindu religious leader Sadhvi Ritambhara and Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy led the meet.

"The main aim for this political party would be to safeguard the legitimate interests of Hindus in India, preserve the Hindu character of the country, and ultimately capture political power," Swamy said.

Earlier, Narain Kataria, president of Indian American Intellectuals Forum, the chief organiser of meet, congratulated Hindus of America for making the Hindu Unity Day a great success.

New Delhi, Aug 21: The BJP on Monday accused Union HRD Minister Arjun Singh of surrendering to anti-national forces by declaring there was no compulsion on schoolchildren to sing "Vande Mataram" on September 7.

BJP leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra also lashed out at Muslim clerics opposing the Central directive on the national song, demanding they be booked for treason.

"The HRD Minister's remarks that there will be no compulsion to sing 'Vande Mataram' is a sign of abject surrender to fundamentalists and anti-nationals who should rather have been told to leave India if they do not want to recite the national song," Malhotra told reporters here.

The BJP leader said the Prime Minister should intervene to ensure singing of the national song became compulsory in schools.

"Also, those who are refusing to sing 'Vande Mataram' should be booked for treason," Malhotra remarked.

In a statement here, the VHP also demanded cases be registered against those who have refused to sing the national song.

Citing religious reasons, some Muslim leaders have opposed the Central directive to schools over the recitation of the first two stanzas of the national song at 11 am on September 7 to mark the centenary of its adoption.

In the wake of Muslim opposition to the directive, Singh yesterday said the singing of the national song at schools was not mandatory.

GUNTUR: The CPI-Maoists shot dead a farmer, who is also the president of the local water users association of Guttikonda village in Piduguralla mandal, in the wee hours of Friday.

The farmer, identified as Nalavolu Naraiah (75) was trying to cultivate on some endowment lands, which the Maoists had already distributed to the Dalits and the backward communities in the village.

Early on Friday, four armed Naxals came and jolted Naraiah out of his sleep. He was shot from point blank range. He died on the spot.

Naraiah’s family has been enjoying the endowment lands in the village, but the Naxals had distributed the land to the Dalits in 2002. When the family members defied the Naxal diktats and tried to cultivate the lands, the Naxals had killed Naraiah’s relatives N Borraiah and N Srinivasa Rao in 2003 and 2004.

What is so special about these brothers that Samuel Rajasekhar goes all out to please them?

Dropped out of S.V.Arts College in the Seventies after his infamous brawl with the then Assistant Superintendent of Police, Ramachandra Reddy; the younger of the Bhumana Brothers, Karunakar Reddy was a known atheist and a radical commie. His elder brother was no different being an active cadre of the commie group and a prominent member of VIRASAM (Viplava Rachayitala Sangham). Arrested in 1974 as an anti-social and released after a hand-written apology/guarantee cum undertaking that he will reform himself, the elder of the Bhumana brothers managed himself a job as a lecturer in a TTD run college.

Samuel has made the elder brother the Director of SVETA (Sri Venkateshwara Employees' Training Academy), the Academy that trains the TTD Employees. No wonder, you find many of them discourteous. It is a classic example of direct infiltration of the commies in a Hindu Religeous Institution.

The younger Bhumana is always a step ahead of his elder sibling. Around 1977, he was arrested as a radical and was put in Nellore jail, which had a famous inmate, Raja Reddy, the late father of the current Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Samuel Rajasekhar who was hauled up as an anti-social element.

What transpired inside the prison continues to remain a mystery. Karunakar Reddy soon endeared himself to Raja Reddy who in the later days started treating him as he would his other sons.

Once out of jail, he started working for certain "projects" of Raja Reddy, moved into Tirupati to become a part of Sidharth Travels, which wound up in due course. It was during this period that the late Durga Prasad of Andhra Jyoti/Andhra Prabha propped him up and with the backing of Raja Reddy, he started Rajasekhara Reddy Youth Forum and went about conducting street meetings in favour of Samuel.

A well known radical, his non-traditional wedding at the Balaji Bhavan was attended by none other than the late Commie stalwart, Tripuraneni Madusudan Rao. A few years ago it came to surface that after the attempt on the life of Gadhar, the Commie Balladeer, Bhumana family were all along serving as guardians of Gadhar's son. Such is the deep bondage between the Bhumana and the Boom Boom tribe of commies.

Bhumana Karunakar Reddy's graph soared silently along with that of Samuel's. And it is said that Raja Reddy had taken a promise from his illustrious son, Samuel Rajasekhar that he would support Karunakar Reddy at all times, thick and thin.

No wonder, that in 2004, when Samuel became the C.M., the first thing he did was to instal Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, the younger Bhuman as the Chairman of TUDA (Tirupati Urban Development Authority).

And what more? He got a Government Order issued to make the Chairman of TUDA as Ex-Officio Member of the TTD Board. This was his breaking in of Bhumana K Reddy into the TTD.

It is not very clear if Bhumana Karunakar Reddy is a crypto-christist or a great sympathiser of his benefactor's religion. I would not be surprised if he is playing a dual role.

The appointment of Bhumana Subramanya Reddy as the Director of SVETA and now the anointment of Bhumana Karunakar Reddy as the Chairman of the TTD Board, insiders feel there is something radically wrong with the system.

An anti-religion TV channel in USA showed a program denigrating Lord Shiva, Buddha, Moses and Jesus. The program was titled WWE on the lines of the popular program called WWF using wrestling as a medium for the gameshow. A similar wrestling game like WWF was shown with the participants attired in the dresses of the above worshipped figures and deitites. The program that was supposed to be entertaining, was in fact, very much despicable and while giving a commentary on the program, disgraceful language was used making mockery of our worshipped deities/ figures. A staunch Hindu named Parminder Shah has sent the film of the program to INDIA TV. This channel published the news yesterday creating a wrath among staunch Hindus.

Lord Shiva, worshipped by Hindus, Gautam Buddha worshipped by Buddhists, Moses and Jesus revered by Jews and Christians respectively are taken in the above gameshow. All the four are shown wrestling with each other, in turns. Like in WWF games, the auditorium is overflowing with spectators. The famous wrestler Edge and the comedian actor Cordlose play the role of commentators in the show. Other players in the game are wearing attires similar to those of the worshipped deities/ figures and shown in a very disgraceful and despicable manner.

A player looking like Gautam Buddha enters the ground. A spectator then goes to him and makes fun of him. He has been shown as a waiter from a Chinese restaurant. Therefter come Moses and Jesus. A commentator says, “Even if Jesus comes late, do not worry.” Two nuns from the audience take autograph of Jesus. The other commentator,
Edge says that women love Jesus. They get fed up of Edge (him) but never get fed up of Jesus.

All of them play wrestling for a while. Commentators say that Jesus is pinching Buddha. Later, Shiva and Moses and Shiva and Buddha wrestle, in turn. The comnetator says,”Now Buddha is twisting hands and legs of Shiva. It is then shown as Buddha has cornered Shiva. Then the Commentator says, “It seems that Budha likes sandwich. You will also enjoy this because Buddha has now defeated Shiva.” Shiva is shown as defeated and sent out of the wrestling ring. Then it is shown that the stage is broken. The comnetator says, “Noe Buddha has caused such an earthquake that all deities have surrendered to him.” Thereafter, Jesus puts his foot on Buddha’s head and the land turns into water and drowns Buddha. In the end, the commentator says that Jesus is defeated by Edge. Lord Shiva has been shown in a very disrespectful way in the show. Besides, the two hands attached to Shiva look very revolting. Buddha has been shown with a big belly. Our worshipped figures are shown in such perverted manner and even the language used is very disgraceful. One will not be able to see such inferior quality program. [In the beginning of the game, Lord Shiva has been introduced as the ‘Hit’ man of Hindus. Hindu saints dismayed at opposition to 'Vande Mataram'

New DelhiSeveral Hindu saints have expressed dismay over a section of Muslims opposing to singing the Vande Mataram, India's national song.

Dayananda Saraswati, Swami Chidanand Saraswati and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and several other saints have also instructed all Hindu religious places and congregations to start singing the Vande Mataram, according to a press release issued by the Art of Living Foundation.

"Religious intolerance has to stop somewhere. Today, it's Vande Mataram, tomorrow it could be refusing to say 'Namaste' or seeking the removal of the saffron colour from the national flag. This will harm the composite culture and social fabric of India," the release quoted them as saying.

In the release, the saints also urged the Prime Minister not to ignore Hindu religious leaders and interact with them as he often does with ulemas.

They also called upon Muslim intellectuals to condemn the attempt to insult the national song in the name of religion.

Ranchi, Aug 24: Jharkhand tribal leaders and priests want immediate stripping of reservation facilities of past members of their community who are now converted Christians.

The tribal group, known as Sarna, has demanded that the reservation facilities provided to tribal Christians be stopped immediately.

The Kendriya Sarna Samiitee (KSS), one of the prominent organisations, has taken the lead in making the demand.

"The tribals who have converted to Christianity should be stripped of the scheduled tribe category status. They should not be given reservation facilities in government jobs and educational institutions," said Ajay Tirkey, president of KSS.

"The Supreme Court ruling says that the converted tribals can enjoy reservation facilities only when they practise the Sarna tradition. Here converted tribals follow the Christian traditions," Tirkey said.

The Sarna Samiti cites the examples of the difference between the converts and original tribals.

Supporting the view, Arjun Oraon, another tribal leader, said "The Christian missionaries convert our people allurement and then force them to follow their culture, tradition, mode of prayer and other things."

He said, "The tribal Christians should not clubbed with us as it will pose danger to our existence. They are provided all facilities by the missionaries and we cannot compete with them. If this continues then the spirit of reservation will not work in our favour."

The tribals also cited the Supreme Court ruling in case of a tribal girl marrying an upper caste Hindu.

"While the child of that woman loses all facilities provided by the government to tribals, the same should be applied in case of converted Christians as well," they argued.

The arati link, however, is still under construction. State Congress leaders, including its general secretaries Manak Agrawal and Syed Sajid Ali, said the
government should desist from identifying itself with one religion, especially in a
democratic country like India. However, State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs
Narottam Mishra dismissed these allegations and said the aratis in Ujjain were a part
of the state's spiritual and cultural heritage and therefore providing a link on the website was not wrong. He added: "In the month of Ramadan, Islamic signs will be put
up and on Christmas, prayers and pictures of Jesus Christ will be included on the site."
The minister suggested that prayers of Jain community and the Guruvani of the Sikhs

New Delhi, August 23: Maintaining that Pakistan has not dismantled the terror infrastructure existing on its soil, India on Wednesday said the neighbouring country's intelligence agency ISI continues to provide directions and logistics support to terrorist groups like LeT.

"We have not received any information on dismantling of terrorist training camps," Home Minister Shivraj V Patil said replying to supplementaries during Question Hour in Rajya Sabha here.
He said information about existence of terrorist training camps was passed on to Pakistan during the Home Secretary-level talks between the two countries.
"Results have not been satisfactory... We are not satisfied," he said.

According to available inputs, ISI continues to provide directions and logistics support including recruitment, arms training and funds to militant outfits like Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen and al-Badr for terrorist related activities in Jammu and Kashmir despite government's peace initiatives and Prime Minister's invitation to separatist leaders for two round table conferences.
"Available inputs indicate Pakistan's ISI continues to remunerate terrorists for attacks on security forces and political leaders. The serial grenade attacks on April 14 and July 11, 2006 in Srinagar city and killing of tourists are reportedly the result of directives received by the terrorist outfits from across the border," he said.
Patil said the list of India's most wanted was also discussed at the Home Secretary-level talks but no action has been taken.
"We have given documents pointing out to places where training is imparted to terrorists," he said adding Pakistan was in a denial mode.
Emphasising its commitment to the dialogue process, India has conveyed to Pakistan that talks can be sustained if it takes action on dismantling the infrastructure of terrorism, including training camps, launch pads and communication links between terrorist groups on the Indian side and their handlers on the Pakistan side, he said.
To another question, Minister of State for Home Affairs Sriprakash Jaiswal said the government was committed to provide security cover to all citizens, including Kashmiri Pandits.
"This year the state government had assured security cover to Panun Kashmir, an organisation of Kashmiri Pandits in order to enable them to perform 'mahashradh' in the Valley," he said.
But despite the assurance given by the government, Panun Kashmir chose to perform 'mahashradh' in Jammu (Akhnoor) on August 6, 2006, he said.
"Many religious functions such as Kheer Bhawani Mela and Amarnathji Yatra are held in the Valley every year in which Kashmiri Pandits take part in large numbers and government takes all measures for their security and safety," he added.

Former Union Minister Arun Shourie, speaking on Media and Hindu Intelligentsia, said intellectual work should be an instrument for acquiring political power. As such, all efforts should be doubled and directed at achieving this and the current situation remained the most opportune and favourable one to realise that, he felt.

Stating that more than 50 years of secular discourse had done great harm to the nation, he said Hindu tradition had been denied its due space in mainstream media, which was insensitive to the national cause.

Illegal Bangladeshi immigrants settled in Assam have usurped over 400 mutts and namghar (also called Kirtanghar) owned by the Asom Sattra Mahasava of Vaishnava sect. Having failed in their efforts to regain these places from Bangladesh nationals, the followers of this sect have now petitioned the Army to help them in reclaiming their lost seats of Assamese culture.

Badly hit by the Bangladeshi invasion, the Sattra people have approached the Army as the feel that the Government will not come to their rescue as its very future hinges on the support of the Assam United Democratic Front.

There are 800 places in the State, which were being used by the followers of Asom Sattra Mahasava. However, after the influx of Bangladeshi immigrants in the State, the scenario has altered drastically as Bangladeshis have managed to take over the lands and buildings owned by the Mahasava in Nalbari, Barpeta, Naogoan, Dhubri and Kamrup districts.

Mydukur, Aug. 21: Leaders of Viswa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh demanded that the police take stern action against the pastors and father of a church, who allegedly burnt the portraits of Hindu gods at Vanipenta in Kadapa district on August 18.

They threatened that they would intensify their agitation if cases were not booked against the Christians. Following a complaint by these leaders, the police registered a case against the Christian pastors and father, said circle-inspector Harinatha Reddy.

The activists led by RSS Zilla Pramukh T Venkateswarlu, district joint secretary B.R. Venkataramana staged a rasta roko at Mydukur on Monday. The leaders alleged that the Christian religious organisations were resorting to religious conversions for the past so many years.

They eyed several Dalitwadas for their religious conversions and as part of it, they organised a meet on August 18 and converted some Hindus into Christians. On the occasion, they reportedly set fire to some portraits of Hindu gods on the premises of the church, they alleged. However, Komara Venkata Ramana, Dumme Pedda Venkanna and G. Venkoji Rao of Vanipenta brought the issue to their notice, the leaders said.

Ammini Amma was one among the victim of Kidnapping attempt by Palayur Immanuel Christian Charity organisation for conversion purpose at Guruvayur Temple. The Kidnapping attempt by these followers of Jesus was spoiled then by the timely intervention of Devotees and Hindu organisation.

The photo above depicts her mental agony when she was forced to sit inside the Ambulance of Christian Missionaries.She was crying aloud and praying to Lord Krishna to protect her from these witched wolves.

Ammini Amma was not a destitute as thought by the Missionaries, She was from a reputed family, who wilfully decided to spend her last moments within the divine feets of Sri Guruvayoorappan.This conversion attempt shocked and humiliated her and she decided to end her life under the wheels of a running train.

This conversion attempt was with the support of local police and few Security employees in Guruvayur.The media who runs editorials and serial stories on controversies surrounding Sabarimala and Guruvayur were least bothered by this gruesome incident.

          KYKL suspected to be  behind blast at ISKON`s Manipur complex            New Delhi, Aug 17: Outlawed militant group Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) is  suspected to be behind August 16th blast at ISKON complex in Imphal, a senior  Union Home Ministry official said here today.

Though none has claimed  responsibility for the blast which claimed four lives and left 66 others,  including two Americans, injured, the hand of KYKL is suspected, he said.

The Meitei militant group, KYKL, which was formed over a decade ago, has  been indulging in extortions and are said to have demanded a hefty amount from  the ISKCON`s chief priest.

Refusal to pay the amount led to the lobbing  of "Chinese-make hand grenades" at the Sankirtan place from outside the complex  when the shrine was teeming with Janmasthami devotees, the official said.

He said the centre was in constant touch with the Manipur Chief  Secretary and Director General of Police and reviewing the situation from time  to time.

Police clarifies casualty figures in explosion

Meanwhile, police said four persons were killed and 66 injured in  yesterday`s explosion at the complex of International Society for Krishna  Consciousness (ISKON) at Tulihal airport area in Imphal west district of  Manipur.

They said the four persons who were killed were H Birkumar  (76), Dr K Bimod Kumar (65), W Anil Singh (9) and Angom Blodin (12)-- all from  Imphal area.

While the body of Bimod Kumar was handed over to his family  members today, those of the remaining three would be cremated at the ISKON  complex here, they said.

Official sources had said yesterday that five  persons were killed and over 50 persons injured when a powerful bomb or a  grenade was hurled at the crowded ISKON complex last evening during Janmasthami  celebration.

Kanglei  Yawol Kanna Lup

Formation

Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), meaning "the Organisation to save the  revolutionary movement in Manipur" is a Meitei terrorist group formed in January  1994 following merger of the Oken faction of the United National Liberation  Front (UNLF), the Meiraba faction of People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak  (PREPAK) and the Ibo Pishak faction of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP).

The outfit suffered a major setback after its inception  when two of its top leadersâ€”â€˜chairmanâ€™ N. Oken and â€˜commander-in-chiefâ€™ N.  Thouba Singh, were reportedly arrested on an unspecified date. Earlier during  1995-96, a large number of its lower-ranking cadres either deserted the outfit  or surrendered before the security forces. Further in 1996, the outfit split  intoâ€”the KYKL (O), led by Namoijam Oken and KYKL (T) led by Achou Toijamba.  However, after five years of inter-group rivalry, the Oken and Toijamba factions  decided to reunite sometime in mid-February 2002. Reports indicated that the  move was prompted by the purported objective of unity among various terrorist  outfits in the region.

Objective

The  purported objective of the KYKL is to â€˜rebuildâ€™ the Manipuri society by clearing  it of all vices like immoral activities, drug trade and corruption. According to  the KYKL â€˜Public Relations Officerâ€™ S.K. Loya, the group stands for  â€˜nationalismâ€™ of the entire Northeastern region to be based on the principle of  "all for one and one for all". Towards the end of 2001, the outfit launched  â€˜Operation New Kangleipakâ€™ (ONK), an â€˜anti-corruptionâ€™ campaign to â€˜clean upâ€™  the educational system in Manipur. While the outfit continues its activities  under the ONK, it has also pledged open support to other terrorist groups who  reportedly work against the narcotics trade, drug addiction, immoral activities  and corruption in the society.

Leadership

Following reunification in 2002, the outfit has formed an ad hoc  â€˜central executive committeeâ€™, with Achou Toijamba as â€˜chairmanâ€™ and Keisham  Yaima as the â€˜general secretaryâ€™. It has also formed a â€˜military commissionâ€™  known as Meeyamgi Yawol Lanmee (MYL), which is jointly headed by Namoijam Oken  and Toijam Ibochou. Keirungba Khuman is the â€˜deputy finance secretaryâ€™ in whose  name extortion notes to the general public are reportedly issued.

Areas of Operation

The outfit primarily  operates in the four valley districts of Imphal East, Bishenpur, Thoubal and  Imphal West in Manipur.

Source of Funding

KYKL funds its activities primarily through extortion that it  collects jointly with the Nagaland-based National Socialist Council of  Nagaland-Isak Muivah (NSCN-IM). For instance, media reports had indicated that  an unidentified faction of the KYKL had aimed to extort between Rupees 20  million to 30 million during the February 2002 Legislative Assembly elections in  Manipur.

Linkages

The outfit has  close linkages with the Nagaland-based NSCN-IM. Further, indications of a  re-grouping of terrorist outfits in the region was visible towards the later  part of the year 2002 with the nexus between the Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA),  Kanglei Yayol Kanna Lup (KYKL) and the NSCN-IM. Besides, the KYKL has also  developed â€˜working arrangementsâ€™ with the Meghalaya-based Achik National  Volunteer Council (ANVC). Reports have also indicated that KYKL maintains links  with the Khaplang faction of the NSCN (NSCN-K) with the latter providing  training and shelter to KYKL cadres at its bases in Myanmar.

Paithan: 13th August-In a 'Mosque' situated at the foot of Nathsagar in Jaikwadi, a wall of the Mosque collapsed with the onslaught of massive floods and some remnants of an ancient temple along with 'Nandi' head have been found. To suppress this evidence of treasure of Hindu culture, Muslims overnight tried to build the structure.

On getting information about it, the Shivsainiks rushed to the spot and stopped the construction. After police assaulted the angry Shivsainiks with lathis, they shouted powerful slogans in the city of,” We will build the temple there only" .As a result of this there is severe tension in the city of Paithan. In the meanwhile the police officer who did lathi assault on the Shivsainiks has been urgently transferred.

As the waters of the massive Godavari floods receded, the remnants of the razed Mosque came to light. The steps constructed of stones were also seen going towards the river. In the morning some of the young fishermen had gone to this area. At that time they found carved pillars of the temple and idol of Nandi in shattered state in the ruins of the Mosque.This news spread quickly like air in the whole city of Paithan. Immediately thereafter along with the Shivsena M.L.A Sandeepan Bhumre, the Taluka chief Arun Kale, Shri Somnath Pardeshi of the Durga Group,Khushal Bhavre, Nandalal Kale, Shivsainiks rushed to the incident spot. Thereafter the Tahsildar Madhav Nilawade was given the news about this. The Police Inspector Balasaheb Khillor and the officers of Archaelogy Department inspected the site.

While the discussion of the discovery of remnants of temple in the place of Mosque was going on the city, later in the afternoon fanatic Muslims starting immediately pulling strings. Hundred to one hundred and fifty Muslims entered the site with construction material. They started building a new wall after excavating the collapsed mud heap. Moment the Shivsainiks came to know about the construction by the Muslims, in the evening, along with 25-30 Shivsainiks, Raju Pardeshi, Deputy chief of the city Sagar Patil, Vijay Acharya again came to the incident site. Seeing the Shivsainiks coming the frightened Muslims fled the scene. The mob of the Muslims directly went to the police station. Then a big force of police appeared on the dispute scene. The police did a severe assault of lathis on the Shivsainiks who stopped the construction.

About 25-30 Shivsainiks were seriously injured in this. On the spreading of news about the inhuman lathi assault by the police, Hindus came on the road .In every square the assembled Hindus gave slogans of 'Har Har Mahadev', We will build the temple there only' and sent the city roaring.

With his background the Sub-Divisional Police Officer Raosaheb Nalabe entered Paithan.He tried to pacify both the assembled mobs. But the tension kept on mounting. The Shivsainiks strongly demanded the suspension of the Police Inspector Balasaheb Khillor, Police officer Somnath Gite. Later Police Superintendent Sanjeevkumar Singhal urgently transferred police officer Gite.
